Problems accessing the site

Everything has been wiped from the old server so hopefully that was what the problem was.

When I couldn't access the site earlier this evening, I did get an entirely different error message. When I tried a little later, it worked.

Maybe having the old server around was the problem.
I'm done for tonight, but tomorrow will tell.

Dwayne is a lot better at understanding this stuff than I am. If that was the problem than I am dissapointed in my programmer for not realizing that even after I had mentioned to her that everything was still up on the old server.

She's a very smart girl and I like doing business with her so I kinda hope that wasn't it. :redface:

Right. The NEW VB is fine, the NEW server is fine. When you guys see the down for maintenace message, you are viewing the old server.

The files on the previous server still exsist and certain ISPs rely on cached information rather that achknowleding the new DNS numbers. Some had mention that this is the only site they are having issues with, of course it is, it's probably the only one that had a major server upgrade, it will get better.

Troy just needs to shut down the old server and you ISP needs to pickup the new DNS, issue will be resolved.

Hope this helps everyone to understand what's happening.

Strange thing is I had 2 Pm's last night I replied to them and deleted them and when I tried to log on today it showed that I had 2 PM but tonight when I got on the message says 0

When I look at the time that some were posting was at the time that I could not log on. :wall

I sure hope someone figures this out soon.
Nearly ever time a site changes servers their are problems but I have never seen them persist for several days.

Before we start blowing Dwayne kisses, just an FYI.
I have cleared the temp files and cookies, and it still kicked me back to the old host.
I now get a page at work the welcomes me to bluehost and tells me that the domain i want is not located there :wall

but that don't mean I won't try every day

Knock on wood as I say this but I've tried to get on 4 different times today and been able to do so every time. Over the past few days if I was able to get on 1 out of 12 times would be about right. Now the test is to see if I can get into the Chat Room tonight.

that is the same message i got... it's not on their end it's on ours. Our computers are goining to the old IP location... it's more of a matter of getting it to forget where it was and where it has to go.
I will grant you it can be really frustrating.

i have cleared temp. internet files & cookies, then shut down IE & my computer and restarted typed in the new address and it still takes me to the old host site.
I have even tried bypassing the DNS by typing in the ip address directly and then i get an apachece cpanel screen

How are you getting on here to post? Is the problem just on a certain computer? Sorry if I missed it if you already mentioned it. I'm just trying to help Troy out real quick so I'm not up to date on all the specifics.
