Problem with rotary.I do not know the exact number of rpm

I have a problem with my rotary machine. This is a copy of the Makita rotary, is a Slovenian company called Iskra(Spark in the translate). The problem manifests itself by being the first and second gear machine slows down to 0 rpm when start to work on car.Only at 2.5 and at 3, 4, 5 works well. I believe that the machine does not have some electronic feedback speed control when running under load. My problem is i dont know what is the speed on 3,4 and 5. I I'm afraid that does not make a mess (read BURN)when do not know rpms. Maybe is 500, maybe 3500 :D.I want to learn zenith point tehnicque and can do that, because i do not know which are correct rpms. In the intructions say that machine are 1200w, rpm 600-3000. But that is only on paper:biggrin1:.

I worked with this devil mashine only once, and working only with speed 3 and 4.

The worst thing to ISKRA is that work bloody great, does not heat up or something. Only that it revs normal range of 600 and up. No no she is dead to 2.5 and then starts to spin like crazy.



For now there is no money for a serious machine, so I would like to say someone has made ​​a similar machine and how to solve the problem rpms. Any idea are welcome.

I have a Harbor freight machine, it is probably a copy of a copy of something. It does bog down when you apply it to the surface, but if yours goes down to 0 rpm, sounds like something might be wrong with it. Short of getting a new machine, sounds like you are going to need to experiment on junk car.
 
In all honesty, any rotory I use I never really look at the speed. To me its more of a feel of what I comfortable with.
 
If you're new to rotary polishing start off by only using finishing pads and do not exceed 1500 RPM < faster is not better and it may cause you problems. Let the rotary do the work, you'll be surprised at what you can correct with a finishing pad and a mildly abrasive polish

Using a rotary polisher at 1500 RPM and a 6-inch pad equates to approximately 2,355 feet per minute at the outside edge.

Using a Sliding Scale 600-900-1200 RPM- commence by spreading the product and then start polishing by setting the speed to 600 RPM, then adjust to 900 RPM culminating at 1200 RPM then descend to 900 RPM and finish at 600 RPM; linear speed should be 2 – 3 inch per second (IPS) 1200 RPM is where most of the paint surface defects will be removed. There probably will be some polishing defects (holograms, etc) by descending the sliding scale (1200-900-600 RPM) you will remove these and any other minor defects

I had similarly good results on one car when I put on a black finishing pad with OPT HC. Worked very well!
