Problem with paint roughness 1 week after detail

hey guys!!!



heres the situation



i detailed a 1990 trans am last week - it got a 2 step polish, wax w/ optimum spray wax etc car was smooth when i left it



i met up w/ the owner recently and when i felt his car, the paint felt rough - all of the horizontal surfaces including the windows have this issue



all of the vertical surfaces dont, this includes the front and rear bumpers, and any point on the sides of the car where the body angle changes from a positive slope to a negative slope



kinda like this - pretend this is the cars hood and side

the owner lives in a very dusty area



i figured if it was something to do w/ the polishing or the claybarring, it would be everywhere on the body of the car, not just the horizontal surfaces



i figured if it was something to do w/ the spray wax, it wouldn't be on the windows



any ideas of what could cause this??

my car would be the same after a week



if it sits outside theres a good chance that dew and dust couldve settled onto the flat surfaces, and or tree sap



after a week its time for a wash and QD unless its a museum piece??
