Maybe it's because I've never purchased new.. but I never heard of all these dealer coatings until I started around the detailing forums. However, I bet there are a ton of people out there that got hooked. I mean, how many people still use brushed washes? :lol:

As an Ex new car prep guy. Going back to the early 1980s never buy a service like this from the dealer. One, I had no training on installing it and 2 you can do it yourself better and cheaper. I used to scotchguard interiors. Weather you paid for the matts, seats or headliner I still got the same quantity of product. It was like a pint I would spray onto the surface Wigan trigger sprayer after cleaning and vacuuming the car. We had an eye dropper of water to show the customer the work was done and working.

They charged big bucks for it and it was don't by a high school kid in 10 minutes with 15 bucks worth of product.
