Price range for removing seats and applying leatherique on 2 front seats?

What is a good price range to charge a customer for removing 2 front seats from a Mitsubishi VR4 and giving them the full treatment with leatherique?

Be careful if you decide to take the job. It is very easy to lose track of where the seat rails are when removing the seats and put a gash in the plastic door trim. Consider that liability when naming your price.

I was thinking the same thing. Not to mention if the seat is not re-installed properly and comes loose in an accident. I personally would never remove a front seat, only third rows in mini vans which are designed to come out.
 
why pull the seats?

I thought part of the leatherique process was to

close the car up and let it sit in the sun for a bit to heat up
 
I wouldn't do it for anything under $250. Too much hassle, liability, and just not worth it to me.
 
$175-$250?? Are you guys kidding me?:think:



Get real, this is a simple process and you don't need to pull the seats either, only a few hours to let it soak in the sun and you're not really doing any work for those few hours either so how is $250 justified?



I bet none of you would pay that much to have your leather restored....



I think $100 is good, $150 at the very most. But you know your client alot better then we do. Don't charge more just cause they can afford it, that's wrong, charge what's it's worth regardless of who your client is or what the car is.

I know the seats don't have to be pulled, I have pulled seats before. Of course I will tell them that it's not necessary, but if that is what the customer wanted me to do then they will pay to have it done.
 
also, on some cars the abs light will come on after the seats are pulled and you will need to go to the dealer to have it reset

If there are side-impact air bags you must unhook the battery before removing or installing the seats to be safe. Although, you're supposed to be able to remove them and as long as you don't turn the ignition it won't set off the light. I prefer to unhook the battery to be safe.

I had a side airbag go off in my ear when the battary was unhooked. Apparently they store a charge. I lost the hearing in that ear...

I didn't say anything about the airbag working or not, I honestly wouldn't know that. But I know that the SRS light won't turn on if you do the work with the battery unhooked.



It's good to know that can happen though.
 
Seriously ScubaStevo. That is a pretty big bang. Been in a wreck and it happened. Scared the crap out of me because I didn't even know the car had them. Obviously in the passenger seat at the time. But if I was working and had my head down there that would suck.



Haven't tried this stuff yet. Everyday I read about some new product that I want to try. I could go broke if I was on this site more than a few minutes and a few days each week.



I do need a new leather cleaning product. So many different suggestions, from soap and water to cleaners and conditioners. I believe that someone on here is totally against conditioners though, even though I like the conditioners due to the fact they usually smell so good.
 
I saw his seats when I treated his headlights yesterday. The seats have a small 1" cut in the side bolster(leather). Are there any good, sturdy and reliable fixes for that? He is considering just buying new seats. I would like to save him money on that and keep some business too.



He was incredibly happy with his headlights and whatever I tell him he will go with.
 
I haven't used this product yet, but plan on it. I was thinking around $175, but the more we think about it, probably needs to be over $200. It's a specialty service for troubled leather. And it is a lot of work/time involved. One of those things that you think doesn't take that long but ends up taking several hours extra. I wouldn't pull the seats out either.
