Preview of New Optimum Hyper Compound

So, has the new formula been released? How does it work with a PC? Also, would it be beneficial to mix with OP, like the HTEC/OP combo?

Very interesting to hear this...

Looks like faint hologramming on the polished side of the bonnet, would the OHC perhaps respond to a couple of low speed passes (900rpm say) at the end of a set to refine the finish further?? This is a technique I use with aggressive compounds such as Power Gloss and G3 to avoid hologramming... Just a thought...

Looks like it performs brilliantly though, and Porsche paint (in the UK anyway) is very hard. :)

Yes I do that too. I also spray 200mph paint reflection enhancer and quick shine on the panel and buff that in. Makes the colour a little richer.

I really liked the first formula but it definately needed more cut - around 800 grit would be beauty

Don't like the idea of it adding a few swirls to the paint. Most Compounds these days don't do that.

Been released now for a good while and yes it can be mixed with the compound and the ocp.

I usually use OCP right over the OHC residue, meaning I don't remove the OHC but I just apply the OCP right after, change pads, and continue buffing.

How does OHC perform with a PC? Also, what is the benefit of adding OCP to OHC? Wasn't the new formula suppose to leave the finish LSP ready?

I don't use a PC so I can't comment on that other than I have used it with my Cyclo and it works great. Adding OCP to OHC gives you a product just in the middle....not too abrasive yet more cut than OCP alone.

Hyper can give you a ready to seal finish if used on a light colord car with a polishing or finishing pad.

Anthony,

What pad do you use with OHC and Cyclo for hard clearcoats like audi/vw? Also, how much greater is the cut compared to PO106FF?

Thanks!

Does OHC have some silicones or fillers in its composition?

I've heard people that after using OHC in a detail and leaving the car swirl free, the owners returned to him because the swirls appeared after 1-2 properly washes.

I've tried on saturday the old version (I have a small sample) and I liked it, and after polishing with it, I did an IPA wipedown and I didn't notice any swirl removed...

Could you please share your experiences about this?

i have never experienced that at all...I have always gone from OHC to OC to OP, or at least from OHC to OP and had good results...no swirls left over

But do you tried doing a IPA wipedown after polishing to reveal if it fills something?

Thanks for the comments !!

Noticed that the left side of the hood has swirls removed, but it has that wave of marring... or was that still part of the right side? If it's the aftermath of OHC what did you use afterward to finish it off?
