Well this car was stained with something...looks like a chemical was sprayed on the car etching the clear. In fact you could see drip marks. The BMW rep was called in by the owner of the car to come look at it. The owner said the only way to fix it was to paint it keep in mind this is all over the car. The owner also was against buffing said it would NOT do a thing to it. Now i tried my best to get pics of the damage. I dont have all the fancy stuff some of you guys have i am quite new to this site. Well i just saved the car :) . In fact a new 335 vert. was sitting next to it in the same color and the service manager said that he couldnt believe how red i had made the car. i spent hours in fact due to my many other duties it was drawn out over a few days. .here she is and the owner is picking her up tomorrow.

Very nice. What did you use on it?

whoops ...guess i should have said that in my first post..3M perfect it 3, swirl remover and ultra fina SE....gold class wax ...( dewalt buffer wool and foam pads ) ...

GREAT JOB on the Bimmer!

And good choice of product lineup. I pretty much use the same stuff, but add 3M Dark Glaze with a glase pad after I do the compounding.

Ultrafina SE is a wonderful product (except for the oily splatter...but that's not too hard to keep up with). I use their light blue foam pad on the DeWalt and on black cars, it definitely adds some WOW!

Toto - I never have the splatter issue. do you think that you are using too much? You need very little.

tdekany: you know, that could be. I watched the 3M instructional video for Ultrafina and they even describe the oily splatter in the video. I have another black Bimmer to start on, so I'll try using less product.

Thanks for the input.

I use a LC VC 7.5" blue pad with it. I put 3 nickel size amount of polish on that pad. Spread it in the area I am working 2x2 or 2x3 and go at it at 1500rpm

the only time i ever have that splatter is when i use to much of the ultafina....little goes along way with 3M products i have found....ultra fina is supposed to stay wet
