I bought a bottle of this last year for 99 cents and never got around to using it. I tried it on the tires of a 4x4 since they are quite large. It applied evenly but felt greasy(I'm assuming it's solvent based). It soaked in fairly fast and left a semi-glossy matte type of finish. I sprayed the tires with some water and they bead up quite nicely. Pretty good OTC product.
 
can't go wrong for .99$, and even if you don't like it on the tires, you can use it in the wheel wells... :)
 
Yeah its not a bad product. I picked up a bottle when Pep Boys was clearing out the Prestone line. The Prestone Carnuaba based QD is not bad either.
