Presta Swirl Remover

Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
This last Friday I stopped at my local detail supplier...as one of his lines he sells the Presta polishing system... ...I picked up their swirl remover to give it a try...I have to say that I was really impressed with the product....I used it with my Edge green waffle pad...and working with Halogen lights to make sure that I could see everything....My process was wash clay, swirls remove, P-w-S, Fk1 glaze and Nattys...this was without any doubt the most perfect swirl free finish that I have achieved on this car...

Anyone else using Presta here???

These two pics I took one on Saturday in the garage it rained most all day...so I had to drive the car in the rain...the next day I washed the car with some sun and was able to get a pic in more natural light....

Im surprised you havent tried it sooner. That was one of the first things i ever bought from Eric. Without question, my favorite swirl remover that i have tried so far. How was it taking if off? Sometimes i really have to give it some elbow grease to get off.
Have you tried there light cutting creme or 1500 polish yet? Just as good as the swirl remover, awesome stuff.

I'm ALWAYS talking about the Presta line I've praised the daylights out of Cutting Creme Light, 1500, and SR, especially swirl remover. Via green Edge pad it's just about the perfect one-step combination.

I've never had a problem with SR, Tim thought I was nuts because I told him I use it by itself, he said no one else he's talked to likes working with it that way. I didn't have a problem with it but he told me to try using a little less product and spritz the panel with Presta S&S, it really makes a little product go a lot further and you won't get any build-up. I use it either way to this day, but Trevor (or Dave too) you might want to give that a try. I've never had SR gunk up on me, I'm a huge fan of it :10:

Ill have to give that a try on a truck im doing tomorrow. Thanks for the pointer :bigups

Yup Presta is pretty underrated, very good for Pro's. The buffing pads they sell are made by Edge. Grab the Ultra Cutting Creme Light as a compound, SMR/Chroma 1500 as polishes. Not sure if their waxes or sealants are any good. :bigups Any input there?

I have the Presta Light Cutting Creme and one that is blue in color...off the top of my head I don't remember what type of polish it is. They are nice though, I can get them in town, and for the price the bottles are quite big.

I have a complaint about the company, and I haven't even tried their product :( I have been unable to coax an email reply to my inquires regarding a local source. I made a few blind calls through the yellow pages, but have so far come up empty.

As mentioned, at least some of the shops carrying the Presta products also carry the Edge pads. Could be a one-stop shop opportunity.

I have read really nice things about both the Light Cutting Creme and Chroma 1500 products. One thing to consider before purchasing, the reviews I've read are all centered around using these products via rotary vs PC. So, I'm not certain how well (or if) they will work with an RO.

BB and I were talking about this the other day. Its a must, to use a rotary. The SR and 1500 need alot of heat to fully break down. BB and I both tried with a PC, its a living nightmare to try to wipe off. I ended up rewashing the car to get it off. Also as Dolan mention, it makes it allllllot easier to get off if you spray the pad or car with some QD then go to town. Comes off with bearly any effort.

How does the Presta stuff compare to say Optimum etc? Heard a lot of good stuff on Presta...which is unusual for an regular autoshop type product.

I will back the rotary up with this product...I used my PC last week with it and it was a bear to get off...heat is key with this one

Trevor- You must have tried misting the panel before buffing, glad it worked out for you :bigups

As for the Rotary vs. PC comment, I think it depends... I no longer have a PC but when I did I used SR via yellow Megs pad on my fathers '06 Victory Red Silverado when it first came home. It had some minor swirling from the dealership it was shipped from and I buffed it out the first chance I got (Of course it rained for damn near 2 weeks straight after we got the truck, so I had to wait a while :( ). I can't remember what speed I used (I would say 6?), how much product I used, but I don't recall having any trouble removing the product, and it did an oustanding job of removing the marring. As for 1500, it seems like it can be a %&^!@ to remove even via rotary, I always try using different amounts of product to prevent it b ut no matter what I always get some stubborn spots that don't come off as easy as the rest. But again a quick spritz of QD removes them with ease. The other thing I've noticed about 1500 (Been using it a lot lately, more than before) is that it works quick and it works FAST, I usually lay down 2 decent sized beads on each panel, pick up each and spread them around the panel and sometimes it doesn't seem like enough, if I add an additional bead it seems to do the job as I'd intend it to. Cutting Creme Light also works fast, and via black wool Edge pad it's almost unstoppable! I've removed some serious defects with that combo, I don't have any pictures but I'm starting to think that I need to so others can see what this product line can do.

For those of you interested in trying their products: It doesn't hurt to try out their whole product line, but mainly check out Cutting Creme Light, 1500, Swirl Remover, and Spray n' Shine QD. Worth every penny IMO :bigups

Presta & Malco

were can i buy some?

Since Presta seems to be a part of the Malco organization, maybe contacting Malco would get some information on Presta vendors.
Welcome to Malco Products
The Presta line, I know nothing about, but I did use some of the Malco products a few years back. I don't remember much about them, but I must not have been too impressed since I never purchased them again. :)

I just thought of something today...

Mix Swirl Remover with 1500 Polish, use it with say a Green light cut Edge pad, I wonder if it would be a great one-step mixture for vehicles that don't require a compound/cutting pad yet still need minor buffing?

I thought about mixing Cutting Creme Light with 1500 but dropped that thought quickly. I don't think it'd be a good mix...

I'm gonna have to try the SR/1500 one though...
