Pressure Washer for winter?

I was looking over at meguiars online and saw a post by 2hotford. He showed a winter washing with his wife's car. he pre-rinsed the car with a pressure washer. So I am thinking about buying a cheaper or smaller pressure washer to use for pre-rinsing this winter for our families 3 cars. Any advice?

Jeez, how can someone let their car get that awful? I wouldn't use my pressure washer like that, I like it but if my car got that horrendous I'd just die. I guess you could use a pressure washer for winter, it does use less water than you think. You'd still have to take the same precautions as with a winter hose wash so there's not a lot of benefit there. The place my pressure washer really shines is the lower body panels and rims. A small one is great, you don't really need more than 1000 psi for anything you'd use it for on your car.
 
thanks TF. I guess I should have said that car went through a week that had 20 inches of snow and then a big snow melting in the same week. I wasnt to shocked to see a car that dirty from winter salts and stuff. Huge improvement though from the intitial washing.

I was looking at a husky pressure washer for 160 from home depot or a 120 dollar one that didnt have a name. The husky had 1750 psi and the other one had 1500. Please let me know what you think. I cant link them because the links dont go to the correct page.

You can get a 1300-1400 PW most anywhere, Walmarts, etc. for under $100.
The benefits of getting 1750 PSI is you can use it for other cleaning around the house. Light cleaning for conc., decks, etc. I have tried the 1400 on conc. and it works, but it is slow. Hope this helps.
