Prepped for show season, magazine features, and summer! DUW

I haven't been around much lately, mostly because I'm afraid if I come here too much I will never leave to go to work - LOL!

Anyway, I thought I'd drop by to say hello to my old friends if they're still here, check out some product reviews, and show off a few pics!

I've got a few big shows coming up this year, as well as a magazine photo shoot! 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords magazine will be doing my car in June.

Coming up in 2 weeks is Fun Ford Weekend in NJ, and Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords has interest in the car as well, time provided. Wish me luck! :bounce

That said, I decided to take my car up a notch. So I added a big brake kit (halfway done in these pics) and new rims, as well as a bunch of other things here and there.

Throughout winter I also pulled and rebuilt the engine, welded/smoothed/painted the engine bay (it's amazing what you can learn and get accomplished when your friends know how to do everything!), and so and and so on. All in preparation for the mags, although these are things I've always wanted to do. What better time than now?

Long-winded, I'll shut up now.

Here are the pics of the new brake setup (the rear is getting the rear disc treatment later this week). This was just after using a claybar. It started drizzling rain and I hid it in the garage to finish up later.

Here's some older pics:

(this is current, but I need to clean a little overspray and some other minor stuff like a braided SS blower feed line, etc. Details, details!)

My car's name is "Sonic Cherry", and that flat backing panel is having a red w/white drop shadowing design stitched into the vinyl as I speak.

Thats slick... your friend is good at what he does. Looks like the texture even matches to the factory dash

The shop in Memphis, is it Alan with Speed of Sound?

Yes it is! Alan is tremendous at what he does! He went over the texturing process about 4-5 times before he was finally happy with it. He did this as a gift, and it goes to show what an artist he really is - that he'd spend such time, attention and detail "just 'cuz."

Thanks guys! :xyxthumbs

ebpcivicsi - Alan posted those pics on Stangnet the other day, and I commented on how great it looked. Very small world, haha. NICE job!

Here's a question for anyone looking:

I need to get some new clay and don't want to buy all the rest of the stuff in the "claybar set" from the store, which I don't need. Will any clay, like from an arts and crafts store, work?
