I started a mobile car washing company and was thinking what is the most efficient way of vacuuming a car that is in a underground parking with no outlets.

Generator? if so which one?

a outlet attachment to the cigarrete thing in the car?

I have a metro vac'n'blo 4hp

thanks

You will need a generator, I really don't think a power converter will run a vac. You just need to decide how big you want to go on the generator.

Duracell has a 3000w power invertor that recharges itself from a 12vDC battery and has a couple of ac outlets on it. It's priced at around $400 or so. I was about to go full time mobile detailing but then I totalled my suv. I was about to take out the middle seat to make room for a water tank and generator but now Im having to make due with just a basic 4 door sedan. I need to run an electric pressure washer, shop vac, steamer, and pc or rotary with no more than 2 of those plugged in at a time. I came across this duracell invertor thinking that since it had 3000 power it might be something that could power all my stuff and yet still fit into my sedan with all the other tools I carry. Its charged off of a car battery so this thing might work for your needs if you just need to vaccuum for a few minutes since Id imagine it wont keep its charge for too long without a continuos energy recharge like when the car is on. If there's a small generator that can fit in the space of a floor board of a sedan Im interested in knowing more!

Good luck with the car wash company. You need a generator. I have a Porter Cable 5250 watt. Works just fine. Just a little loud. If you have the money, get a Honda generator. Much more quiet. Make sure you charge enough.

I think you might be able to run a spare battery off of a capacitor (i think that's what they're called?)--similarly to what some people do with their custom sound systems when it saps up too much energy--they pretty much get a second battery which also has something (I think it's a capacitor) that keeps the battery from being spent too quickly (i guess similarly to how your alternator works...)
