Power Clean on LC CCS pads?

I've read in orevious threads where people have used Dawn Power Clean on their polishing pads. I was looking at getting some the other day, but after reading the bottle it sounded like some strong stuff and that it shouldn't be used on some surfaces. Has anyone used this before and had any trouble with LC CCS pads and it causing the adhesive backing to come loose?

I think you mean Dawn Power Dissolver. While I haven't used it specifically on LC CCS pads (I like flat pads) I have used it on LC pads (and several others) with no problems.

I don't grab for the Dawn Power Dissolver until things like DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator (Snappy pad cleaner) and/or regular Dawn don't seem to be doing the trick. The Dawn Power Dissolver will dry out your hands so you might want to wear some latex or nitrile gloves when using it. Otherwise I love the stuff and always keep a couple of bottle on hand for those tough to clean pads.

I've used it on my pads, and on my MF towels that had some weird grease stains on them. I spray it on the MF let it dwell for 30 seconds then rub the towel with itself and stain breaks up, throw it in the wash comes out like new...

Best part is it's easily available. I have 3 bottles now, and usually grab it when it's 2 for 5 or something like that...

Does it wash out easily? Reason I am asking is that I believe the bottle said that it should be tested before using on painted surfaces.

Don't use it on painted surfaces. Clean your towels, mitts, and applicators that have been gunked up somehow.

It usually takes a lot of rinsing, but it comes off. I usually follow with a wash of regular down to remove the residue.

Based upon the bolded above, I think he really is talking about Optimum Powerclean, not Dawn Power Dissolver because I don't believe Power Disolver talks about using it on a painted surface. Or are you talking about Power Disolver?

Yea, I was gonna say... Power dissolver on paint would probably really harm the finish, lol... :geez

The dawn power dissolver.

I know when I cleaned some towels before with dawn it took a lot of rinsing to get it out, I did not know if this was the same with the power dissolver.

I used Dawn Power Dissolver to clean a really neglected vinyl convertible top on a Mazda Miata about 2 months ago. I squirted on the top. Scrubbed it in with a carpet attachment on my PC. It created some thick foam that i let sit until the whole top was done and then rinsed it off. It took alot of free flowing water to get it all off. It left a residue on the paint (black) that washed off with the CG CWG solvent strength wash I was using.

I've checked the vinyl top a few times since then and there is no sign of it becoming dry or brittle from the PD.

Dawn Power Dissolver - that's my go-to for cleaning pads - I use LC ones. Then the wife discovered it and started using it on the kids laundry, the bathtub, and who knows what else - I had 4 bottles and now I'm down to 1! Guys, stock up and hide some.

Funny, I too had to bring it down to the garage and get it out of sight!
