Posting pics online can give away your location

I just started taking a few pics this past week, I do have a suggestion if anyone reading this has the bright idea of coming to visit me in the middle of the night. They had better made peace with God before they get here, because there about to meet him

Good info Bryan :-B

Thanks Bryan! I just checked my new BB and found the camera to be GPS geotag "disabled".

Thanks again, great info.

no this is a different feature, in most phone under phone options or secuirty it says location on/off or e911 only . it will broadcast when you dail 911 no matter what setting its on. the geotag feature only applies to pictures

this info is for cdma phones only ...i was a data tech for vzw, i know gsm phones work on a different system but unsure how they work exactly

Gee, thanks NYrep, with this heat I'm afraid I might stroke out @-) Its good to know I can still reach 911 :)

Great info...it astounds me how incredibly stupid some people can be as to what they post online in twitter and whatnot. They might as well take out an online ad to get their house B&E'd.

I Agree!!

If you pay me a visit unexpectedly be sure you have life insurance!

When I post photos to a forum they come form a photo hosting website, this way there's no information associated with it.
