Ok so I'm almost done with my garage and wanted to get a few final details.

I want to find some full size posters and autombile memorobilia to add to the walls to make the garage "Mine". My question is where to find this stuff. Does anyone have any good sources, websites etc.?

Thanks in advance for the help, once I have everything I'll post pics!:)

one of the best sources that I've found for getting "unique" stuff (vintage and whatnot) is eBay.... you just have to keep looking, and make your searches specific to what you want to get stuff for (like for example; mercedes posters, signs, etc.)

Thanks for the quick heads up, I looked at a bunch of the websites and I have to say gasstuff has some cool oldies memorobilia.

I have looked at Ebay and occassionally you will find something, the hard part is checking daily and keeping track of the auction which I have a hard time dedicating myself to.

Thanks again, pictures.......maybe in a couple weeks!

You could always go to Chevron and bum the chevron car pictures off the pumps from them like I did. :lol Hey, my garage is ghetto enough. those posters fit right in. lol

You can find a lot of cool "garage memorabilia" at flea markets (if you like going to those). I've been to some Antique Malls that have a special section of garage/auto items.

Are you near Pasadena? I hear they have a great flea market at the Rose Bowl.

Jngrbrdman.

Hmm do you steal the signs from the Chevron Stations or just ask for them? Any examples you can post on here?

TurboCat,

I live in Temecula, but I wouldn't hesitate to make the 1.5 hour trip to Pasadena to find some cool stuff. When are the flea markets held??

Every 8-10 weeks or so there is a massive auto swap meet at the LA County Fairgrounds in Pomona. Tons and tons of auto related stuff there including most anything for a garage. Look in the Auto Trader or Recycler for upcoming shows.

I'll definitely have to look into both of these events! It also makes me wonder if there are any events like this in San Diego (easier to get to).

Thanks again guys.:)

Depending on how much you want to work on this and how much you know about Photoshop. I found this web page and downloaded a bunch of these killer posters. I touched them up a little and tiled them out on our color lasre printer at work. Then I butt-fitted them and taped them from the back. To finish them off I put them in some cheap poster frames and hung them all the way around the garage. They really turned out goo and added a lot to the garage. You can't tell at all that they were tiled unless you are two inches away.

Here is another poster page that has some vintage stuff.....

Well, for one thing, you'll be putting your trophies in there! :up

But here's a different approach. One of my Jag club buddies has some very different things on his garage. Old Jag grills, wheels, hubcaps, steering wheels, dashboards (wooden, of course), etc. -- all, of course, immaculately detailed. I think mostly they came off cars he has restored. But you can also buy such things in the "parts" section of EBay Motors. He also has some of the original Jaguar advertising posters for the year/models he owns. My very favorite is of a '76 XJ12 in British racing green, with a little boy standing by his bicycle looking at it, and the caption just says, "Someday ... Someday." The irony: John now is middle-aged, a successful pilot, and he has that exact car, lovingly restored. Still gives me chillbumps.
