post detail haze

Damned pollen!!!
I just finished a final detail before winter. After this detail, noticed a hazy, smear all over the car where I had wiped. Looks almost like hologramming. It is some residue though. Is that from too much product or what? I can only see when the sun hits it. I cannot get the pics to come out either.

The process was

PC or Rotary with SSR1? Also how did you apply SG and P21s? Did you wait 24 hours after applying SG?

I would do:
SSR1 - polishing pad
AIO - polishing pad or by hand
SG wait 24 hours before layering or adding P21s - by hand
P21s - by hand

I starting using Klasse twins over a year ago, I notice after applying SG, my car looked good, after 3-4 days it looked better! I think it's the curing factor but I'm not sure. I like to wait 4-6 days before layering it, or waxing. I have gotten nice results. 24 hours should be fine though.

that happened to me when i used the new turtle wax ultra gloss ;paste wax. it looked really good but in diff. lighting i could see the parts where i buffed it off. i guess u should use less product and wait till it full dries is my guess. but i'd wait for someone with more knowledge to reply...

It's possible that you are experiencing the dreaded "SG Haze". I had this problem a couple times myself. I found that using SG in humid weather, and not allowing several days of cure time prior to topping with carnauba, sometimes resulted in an oily haze. No amount of wiping could permanently remove the haze. I would have to strip with AIO and start again. If I gave the SG about a week to cure before topping, no hazing occurred.

maybe it is the haze. I used a PC. not orbital, so it can't be burned. Hmmm. Maybe if I was a couple times, the excess will come off.
