Okay. It's long, sorry... the questions are all listed at the end.
I'm 18, have a black 2001 Chrysler Sebring LXi w/ stock 17" chrome and stock spoiler, and am very, very much a perfectionist, my 'Bring included. Which is why I'm here.
Anyway, I've had the car for a little over a year, and have been using mostly Meg's stuff to take care of it. Last weekend I did the whole wash>dry>scratchX>#7 glaze>#26 wax (exclusively Meg's products there). Yesterday I finished coat No. 2 of Meg's #26.
Having come to the boards here for about a month, I hear a lot of praise about sealants; especially Klasse AIO and/or SG.
So, being as anal as I am w/ my 'Bring, I'm all for getting my 'Bring to be as protected, shiny, deep, reflective, (insert superlative here) as I can get it. The thing is, I hear some bad stuff about Klasse and black cars; namely, the "sterility" and swirl highlighting that it can sometimes cause (although I'm not sure what a sterile car looks like...).
Anyway, here's what I'm asking of those that have much, much more experience than myself about this stuff:
(a) These sealants ARE perfectly safe, correct?
(b) Do I really need to use the AIO? Why not just wash, clay, wash, clean, polish/glaze, and then SG?
(c) How much better is AIO + SG as compared to either by itself?
(d) Real life durability / protection?
(e) What improvement is there in layering SG?
(f) Sealants CAN be layered on top of sealants, but NOT on top of carnauba, right?
(g) How much better does a carnauba topper (P21S, I'm thinking) make the appearance?
(h) If I had five layers of SG (which I understand to be the practical limit), and then topped it w/ a few layers of P21S paste wax or #26 or whatever, what would happen to the sealant after a really, really long time? In other words, how would I maintain all that work?
So... what do you think? Should I try Klasse? (or sealants in general?)
Thanks, guys... I apologize for the length.
