Yes the pc at lowes is like $109. CMA had a package with 4 pads and backing plate for like $50. it has been awhile since I got mine so I may be wrong. Its not hard to find do a search here and some other places and you should come in under $200 easily.

Real answer: We’d need you to elaborate on “pitting�, but surfaces scratches would need to be abraded (a PC, foam pad, compound) will remove them, how bad (deep) the scratches have compromised the paint film surface will tell you how abrasive the compound and pad (cutting ability) needs to be. Plus there is a limit to the amount of clear coat you can safely remove, abrading more than 0.3 mil (0.0003�) of clear coat will cause premature paint film failure. As a point of reference a sheet of copy paper is 3.5Mil (0.0035�)
That’s why the answer cannot be a simple Yes /No

DGibb- Gotta be careful when you try to use a PC for stuff that's more of a job for a rotary. Doing serious paint-correction work with a PC is sorta a hit-or-miss thing. It's probably better to think of the PC as just a "fast hand" that doesn't get tired- and not try anything with it that you wouldn't attempt by hand if you were indefatigable.
I've seen some experts do things with a rotary that almost defy belief, it's like they "melt" the paint to fix problems like pitting. No way *I* would try to do it, but having seen it done, I know it's possible. You just can't do that sort of thing with a PC.
