Howdy all. I did some searching and i didnt find anything that really dealt with this BUUUT...

I know pretty much everyone here has a PC buffer and swears by it..But i was looking at the Megs buffer and im torn.. which would you pick? Why?

id like to hear from both sides because well...ive been using a craftsman 7in buffer for over 4 years now (wife got it for me for a birthday present)

i think its time i got a new buffer to further my skills... so lemme know! i know its gonna be a great debate so lets goooo!:dnaughty

IMHO

I love my flex. I use my pc about 2/10ths of the time. The rest my flex

So if the wallet allows, go flex, if not then the pc (cuz i know nuttin about the Megs.

I had the same question as you when i bought my pc, i liked the look of the handle on the meq. buffer but just ended up with pc. You are lucky Ron NEVER let me borrow his flex, dude. But after reading the advantges of the flex i would have went that route. They had come out just weeks after i bought my pc. O well i will buy one anyway next year. Good luck. shawn

lol ron well it is raining here... so i guess i can be patient.. although im looking at the flex now and i have to say i am impressed....

The flex helped me become king.

300 dollars though... thats tough to swing with a new baby....
maybe instead of saving for a tv... currently i have 40 dollars stashed away lol...
i will save for that... id like to get the 400 dollar kit though..

Gus-Gus, you sound like someone who is interested in lowest possible cost. You can get a 7424 PC (new or used) if you are just shopping for price many places. PC just started shipping the 7424 XP that has about the same power for a little bit more.

I think any of the units will achieve decent results but some the G110/XP will just do it a bit faster. It depends on your value of your time vs your money. The flex will even do it faster.

I guess it depends on if you want to do it for $$$ or just a hobbiest.

im not really looking at lowest price.. as i was telling ron just had my first child and my wife is going crazy so she thinks me spending money on anything is a problem.. :wow:

and i am paying for her school while she gos full time and daycare all on me working.. so yeah maybe i will just save up the cash and go for the nice Flex bundle for 400.. or i could just start to sell some stuff that i dont use... :lol2:

i have not used the UDM by meguiars, but have used the pc 7424 xp, it's simply a great machine. i have never used my hands for polishing since! well maybe just for very tight areas.

I remember using polishes by hand and doing the entire car! yes this is why my right arm appears bigger then my left.(please no rude comments, we've all done that too):)

I since bought a dewalt rotary and I am still learning. This machine works very well, cuts lots of time over the pc for really bad swirls. they have been around for many years so they are cheaper. This machine makes swirl removal seem pretty easy and fast, But it's harder to control and much more dangerous if you are not carful.

The flex is on it's way. I just bought the flex, with the though in mind that this machine could give me same results as the pc with a little less working time on tuff swirls. hope this machine performs.

with all this said, if it's for your weekend warrior, PC wins for performace & price.

You will love the PC! very fun, safe, way to polish your car to a nice shine. even if it takes an hour or so longer then other machines.

hope this helps

The PC XP model just came out. Are you referring to this new more powerful model or the PC that has been around for years?

the pc that has been around for years... i have pretty much decided by guidance of ron and a few others to wait and get a flex...UNLESS i find a really good deal on a PC (old model) or if someone wants to donate one to me lol!
