Does anybody have tips on how to use a Porter Cable 7424?

How long do I keep polishing the product into the surface with the Porter Cable?

I read in another post that the product can dry and cause swirls mid polish. Is that a real concern that you need to be worried about?

Any tips on the care of the pads and cleaning them?

Good question.

Different products react and dry at different rates. Read the instructions ont he back label (I know guys are not supposed to read instructions and all). I typically will polish until I see a noticeable difference in consistancy, resembling a slight haze. I have found that there is a point where you can see a distinct difference in consistancy. I normally polish to that point with the PC and a fwe passes more for good measure. Be more worried about getting "crud" on the pad or finish.

Work on small sections at a time so you can focus.

Make sure to set the PC down with the pad up and avoid getting it neat crud.

Also, make sure the surface you are working on is clean and free of any crud. If you loosen the crud with the pad and it stay on the pad, you could be in swirl/scratch city.
