Porter cable buffer??

C'mon. Not a huge decision. They are both very close in quality, power, and ability. Look at the $$ and make the call. You just can't go wrong with either product!!

+1.

I consider the Flex a good investment when you already have some skills under your belt. It does have some potential to be a little dangerous. Not like a rotary, but still.

UDM or PC will be just fine. Personally, I like the feel of the PC better, but the UDM does have a little more power. Pick one up, you'll be happy with either. Flex is better than both, but is more expensive, and a little harder to find.

*snip*Flex is better than both, but is more expensive, *snip*.

When shopping for a tool that you plan on using extensively and one provides superior performance over the other but is more expensive, each and every time I went for the cheaper one I regreted it!!

I did about 3 cars with my PC, one being a Pacifica, before I was like screw this, there has to be something better (quicker) without going full blown rotary. Go ahead and call me a sissy if you would like, but I'm just not ready for rotary action. That was about the same time the Flex started to surface. So I stepped up and bought it with a whole new pad system to boot, and haven't regretted it one bit. Actually, I look forward to using it.

so the flex is faster and better? What makes it faster it works the polish in faster? I think really overall just like some said that the PC will do just fine.

I just went through the whole what buffer to get to replace my old Black and Decker unit. I really liked the Ultimate Detailing Machine but read see and hear about to many problems so I went the the Griot's buffer. If I had a bigger budget or were a pro detailer I'd get the Flex buffer.

Get whatever you can find the best deal on. I have a PC and a Hitachi Rotary. Both machines are excellent. I looked into the flex, but don't like the fact that you can not use the edge pad system with it. I used LC CCS pads, then convereted to Edge and it is so much more convenient than messing with velcro.

You'll be happy you got one. The results are great and you will find yourself wanting to do more cars rather than just your own.
