porter cable 7334

I searched but not much info on this particular unit. If I get it would I just need the conversion kit for 6"?

I got the 7336SP from Lowes. Same unit, but with the sander bit and a cheesy buffing pad. Get that one, and some good CMA pads and you'll be sorted.

I would not buy a 7334 unless it's a great deal. It comes with a weight that is even lighter and would be pretty much useless to use with any detailing accessories. Get something with the 6" counterweight, like either option suggested above.

If you're getting a 7334 really cheaply or something, then it may be worthwhile to just buy a 6" weight separately, since that is the only difference between it and the 7424/7335/7336 models.

I can get it for around 30 bucks. Good deal? Used but great shape
A 7334 for $30? Yes, I'd definitely jump on that! Just make sure it works okay (the "grinding" noise it may make is normal), and that it comes with everything like the pad wrench and the handle. If not, I guess these would be relatively cheap to replace anyway.

In many cities (but not mine :p) you can find an authorized PC repair center and buy the 6" counterweight from them for a couple dollars. Then all you need is a velcro backing plate and some pads and you are set. :bigups
