Porsche 996 Turbo

I did kind of a fun little car today. It wasn't really much work, but it was cold outside and that made it a bit of a pain. The only real problem were some fairly heavy swirls. They were removed with XMT2 and then finished off with Wolfgang pre cleaner and sealant. All in all it only took about 2 1/2 hours for the job. This guy is going to be a nice customer. He has a couple other vehicles that I'll be coming back to detail in a couple weeks when it warms up. I get to do his brothers vehicles too. :) It was a good day in a nice neighborhood that filled in the holes of my March schedule.

I'm trying something new this year. I created an album that I'm going to put different vehicles in with before and after pictures. Click Here for pictures of the Porsche with before and afters. His house was facing east and the sun started to set on me, so I couldn't get all the sun pictures that I wanted to get. I didn't get any product pictures with the work either, so I guess that bumps it out of any paint perfecting contests. Oh well... based on the condition of his black Jag, black Mercedes, and his brother's black Supra I'm sure I'll get more opportunity to get the good before/afters with products. ;)

The paint isn't too bad, actually. It polished up really nice. I was expecting to have to go over it again with XMT1 to get whatever XMT2 didn't get, but it all pretty much got taken care of in one pass. I checked out a black 911 of the same year after I got done with that one and it was in similar condition, so it must just swirl easily or something. Having these pictures available to show the guy really helped seal the deal. ;)

That is some house! I don't get to see houses like that around here. Very interesting. Oh and nice job on the porsche too.:bigups

That house was really something else. The front door was ten feet high and heavier than anything I've ever seen. It was about 3 inches thick and just solid wood. The whole inside is just incredible. The guy who lives there is 33 years old and a vice president of Coldwell Banker and does commercial real estate. I'd say he does pretty well for himself. It was actually his brother who contacted me about the detail. I detail for the local Supra club and his brother is a member. So he sent me these pictures and asked me if I was interested. lol Duh.......

looks really good. Nice work, porches are always fun. As for the pics, thats a great idea. I have it on my website and people comment on it all the time. They love being able to see the work that can be done.

Very nice, make sure to take pics of his other cars

I hear ya there. Part of the OCDetails.com redesign is going to include a little better photo album. Right now it is just too big of a pain to update. I built that site wrong when I started and now I'm paying for it. lol I'm taking baby steps though. First I'm going to finish up my services mini-site and then I'll finish reformating the articles for the new OCDetails site.

Great job on the Porsche :bigups

I would hate to have to shovel out that guys driveway though

Oh man, I don't mind you showing my car and plane but I told you not to put my house in the picture. Now my wife will know what I'm doing with her alimony. :D

I'm kidding of course. I couldn't afford the insurance on either.

I'm willing to bet that driveway is heated..

You know, I asked him about that and he said it wasn't. It's the real deal cobblestone driveway too. I did notice a little 4 wheeler in the garage with a plow on it, so I'm guessing that is how they get it cleared.

And you know gearhead.... I thought you had like a lift and everything in your garage. You totally decieved me. Who cares about the house when you've got a garage with all the good toys in it?

Built for a lift, 21 foot ceiling, 12 inches of concrete, 18ft. X 32 ft. in that bay and wired for it but the lift is still yet to come. Alas, putting a yard in and finishing the gun vault are my wire's priorities.

Dad's the boss as everyone knows but what Mom says always goes. Yeah the alimony thing was just a joke too. Me and the Mrs. been married 23 looong years now. Hope she doesn't see this. I just bought a .50 caliber BMG for about the same price as the lift would cost (in fact more with the optics), don't know what the heck I'm thinking.

this guy is definitely well off.

that is one awesome looking porsche not to mention the ridicolous expensive house.

He has a site designed for step by step detailing instructions:
OCD University
Take an hour and read through that and the ones in your other thread and you should have a real good understanding of detailing.
