Porsche 911 Carrera S - Complete Vehicle Rejuvenation (6 Days, Countless Hours) !!

Rick, your write up matches Mark's (from Detailing World) if not surpasses it.

Fantastc post and the car is looking amazing.

I appreciate your threads (and Ryan's as well).

Rick

Your such a show off.:chuckle: Amazing job and recovery on the Porsche and the look on the customers face was priceless.

For the last 6 months we have been working in the same shop, I have been very impressed with the quality and dedication that you have put into all of your jobs.

I thought I was the only crazy person that put 40 plus hours into a car until I met you. Now it's just standard procedure in our shop.:chuckle:

p.s. Before you ask....:grinno:The 512BBI thread will be up by the end of the week after I finish with the Stradale.

I'm speechless, yet again!

Love the way you did your write up too. It's very creative and original. Presents itself very well, just as the car presents itself after you worked your magic.

Outstanding as always, Rick. :)

Looks like I need to pick up some of those black lamb's wool pads, they appear to have a lot of cut without beating the crap out of the paint.

Scott, get one, or 3 like I did...should have purchased a few more. They are a pretty smooth operating pad...very similar to PFW pads, but more glossy for wool

90 ZR-1- Thanks! What color ZR-1 do you have and how many miles are on the car? I am a Corvette owner myself...

EisenHulk- Oh, sorry... I'll try to search around to see if there's any way to buy it online and have it shipped...

lt1_man- Thanks a lot Brandon!

Scottwax- Thanks Scott! The black lambs wool pads are definitely a must have! Pick some up when you get a chance. Thanks to David Fermani for introducing these pads to everyone...

connorb850- Thank you very much!

tdekany- Thomas, you are too kind... I really appreciate the kind words! I wish I had the photo skills that mark has though...

Labster- Thank you!

Denzil- Any time Denzil! I'll reply to your PM when I get a spare minute.

David Fermani- Oops, sorry David! :doh Ever since I bought my new camera I have gotten a little carried away with my pictures... Glad you like the thread and thanks for introducing the black lambs wool pad th everyone!

rydawg- Thanks Ryan! That definitely means a lot coming from "Rygod"!! Ha,ha... No, your not the only crazy one around! It must be some sort of sickness we both have or something? ;)

As for the 512, if you don't have it up by this weekend, I am going to soak every one of you buffing pads down with silicone!! :D I have been patient up until this point, but if you don't get it up soon, you will be in trouble!! :bat

kaval- Thank you very much kaval!

toyotaguy-Looks like another happy black lambs wool pad user!

Astounding detail, Rick! My boss has a 993 turbo in a similar color (if not the same). It's a beautiful car, but the paint is thrashed in comparison to your work. Regardless, great job; this thread is inspiring.

Just when you think there are some guys on here that go balls to the wall everytime and cant be surpassed...thats when Rick comes on and kicks them right in the poop shoot with this kind of work:laugh: As always my friend a very fine job:xyxthumbs:xyxthumbs I must ask you though on a 6 day detail, technically you work on the car for 6 days but do you work on any other cars in that time too, as in work 6-7hrs on the porsche and 5-6hrs on the Ferrari?

All I can say is...

Damn! :woot::goodjob:waxing:

I saw one thing that bugs me, though....

The damn inspection sticker was put on crooked by the tech who did the safety/emissions inspection in May of 2008! :hairpull :wall

EisenHulk- I'll be in touch soon...

Moutee- Thanks Moutee!

Mr. BMW- Thanks Anthony! The color is a very similar, but Ocean Blue has a slight greenish tinge to it. It's such a beautiful color in person.

dsms- Thanks for the kind words! I only work on one car at a time so I can give it my full attention from beginning to end. I don't like working on multiple cars at once, because I end up losing track exactly where I left off and what needs to be done. It is much more efficient for me to only concentrate on one car at a time. I only detail part time, so some days I'll only detail 5 hours a day and others over 12 hours a day. Also, working on only one car at a time allows me to really take my time and go above the call of duty on every car I detail.

DaGonz- Thank you!

Good eyes DaGonz!! You can either align it with the side of the windshield or the bottom, but I think either way will make it look crooked.

I just want to thank everyone for all of the really nice comments that were left. I really appreciate it and hope to be detailing for many years to come! Hearing all of your feedback and positive comments gives me the drive to constantly go above and beyond and strive to do the best of my abilities.

This was a very long detail and the end results were pretty amazing. A few weeks after the detail, I ended up calling the customer to make sure he was happy with the car and wanted to know how the car was holding up because of an issue I had with a new product that I used on the hood. I had detailed my girlfriends black SUV using M95 which I had just bought and noticed some *very slight holograms appear shortly after the detail. I explained my concerns to the customer and asked him to bring the car by on his way to a car show so I could inspect it for possible holograms. I inspected the hood and was relieved that there were no holograms present. There was a weird little spot on the corner of the hood (not sure what is was) and some water spots from his garage door dripping on it after the detail. I re-polished the entire front end for him, did a quick Z8 wipedown and sent him on his way. He tried to give me a tip (which I refused to take) and was nice enough to give me a bottle of champagne! He was very appreciative and left a really nice post on the forum he belongs to praising my work. I wish all cutomers were as nice as this one! I have a few pictures I took almost a month after the detail which I will post up soon. The car still looks amazing and can't wait to detail it again next year...

RickRack- I enjoyed reading about your follow-up; sounds like you and that customer are a perfect match. Nice that you two found each other.
