Poorboy's Wheel Sealant

Perhaps you applied too much product? I have this stuff and don't really have any complaints about it. :nixweiss

I definitely don't have any high expectations of any LSPs that go on wheels because wheels can get very hot and can easily compromise the LSP. :(

I went about as thin as I could go (by hand) and still making sure I was getting the product on the wheel. I didn't find that it was impossible to remove, but I was comparing it to the NXT 2.0, which was a breeze to remove.

Yes, it is currently sitting "far back" at my home as well. I like the idea of wipe on and walk away (the same way I like the spray idea), I just can't get over the notion that "easy = will not work well".

It's kind of like that "Once a year paint cleaner, polish and wax than can even fetch your morning paper with an application that takes 3 minutes". :doh

Maybe, but just because something is hard or more difficult, that doesn't make it better either! One of the key components of a "good" product is ease of application...along with appearance and durability. For instance, I think Klasse AIO is still a good product.... same for DG AW and I haven't used it, but I'll be JW AJT is great too - all easy to apply.

Well, I think the bigger issue with car care products is often they are more hype than substance.

There are a lot AMAZING products out there and a lot of terrible ones, but most all products come with too much hype. I think the PBWS is a perfect example.

That doesn't mean it is lousy but it certainly isn't the silver bullet for brake dust. There probably ISN'T a silver bullet and I think I'm probably mad at myself for believing the hype more than anything else.

I haven't tried PBWS but I figure it's no different to any other sealant. I've used various sealants and all seem to do a good job of making cleaning easier. The only problem I have is applying them to fiddly complex wheel designs. Too much time and effort.

Then I tried this:

Michelen Brake Dust Repellent

Takes about 60 secs to spray and remove per wheel. The polymers (which are patent-pending) are suppose to last about 2 weeks, so I apply it after every wash. It's so easy it's ridiculous.

It works brilliantly, however I don't have a heavy break dust problem as some German cars do.

The only strange thing about it (although not necessarily a negative) is it has no slickness to it. It feels like a plastic coating is left behind. But it seems to work! :up
