I guess it is like Lemon Pledge or a lemon oil furniture polish but I don't mind the smell at all. I certainly love the results. I have used it on just about every exterior surface. Another application method that was posted here (or Autopia, can't remember which) was for use after a full wash. Spray S&G after doing the first pass with the WW when drying the car when there is still a small amount of water on the finish. Follow with a wipe with another WW or a buffing MF (I like this better) and flip for a buff. Super shine. I also tried a spray of S&G to remove a coat of Natty's after it hazed. Wonderful shine and certainly quicker at getting Natty's off ( not that it is terribly difficult anyway). I think there is a superior bit of shine with these methods.
I do sort of the same thing. I spray each panel with it before I hit the panels with a WW when drying. It aids in lubrication of drying and also gives a glossier and slicker paint.
