Poorboy's S&W

After over a year of using S&W on various types of dirt, I still have a tendency to use too much. I typically use 3-4 ounces for an average sized, lightly dirty vehicle. I'm probably wasting an ounce or so each time, but this is the amount that I feel comfortable using. I am just about to break open my second 5 gallon container of the stuff, so I have a lot to spare! :D

For my general QD spray, I mix 3 parts S&W with 1 part Meg's Final Detail. This retains most of the cleaning power of S&W with the FD providing some added gloss.

1 ounce seems low, 8-10 is WAY too high.

I S&W'ed my Honda Civic a few weeks ago and I used maybe 3 ounces.

I have to check in the sunlight tomorrow to see if there was any marring introduced by using this...from what I can see under the Florescents (SP?) there doesnt seem to be any. As far as washing a car with it, it is a great product if you are pressed for time. I did notice that if there is anything on the paint such as sap or dried bugs a specific cleaner will be needed to remove these.

I was skeptical about using this product at first, but after using it I would have to say it is a QD on steroids :D and it does live up to its claims as a waterless wash.

I too was skeptical too, but after trying it on my friends car first :) I was truely amazed.

I use probably 3oz on my Yukon, but use alot of MF's

I wouldn't worry about the marring, I've never introduced any...here are some before and after shots from last winter on my Yukon.

Also for those who only want to use it for light dust, dilute it with water about 20-30%, and for people who are looking for more gloss at the same time, try using something like, QD+, UGE or FD instead of the water dilution;)

Wow thats a good idea. maybe 25 percent QD+ and 75 percent S&W. That should enable me to clean the car and leave some protection behind. It would also thin out the QD so that it doesn't have to be buffed off in two steps. Only thing though, isn't QD+ solvant based so wouldn't it have problems mixing with S&W which is water based?

Charles, the original version could be mixed , but you would have to shake it :) the newer version, I have not tried to mix:dunno

I'm right in the middle with my S&W usage, using 2-4 ounces per session. As awd330 mentioned
I'm probably wasting an ounce or so each time, but this is the amount that I feel comfortable using
or even less.

As far as diluting S&W, this is one aspect that makes the product so darned good IMO. I keep 3 bottles going. As Steve mentioned diluting with water (I use distilled), but I don't use that bottle on paint, I reserve it for glass and it works great. Then I have my S&W/QD (I've tried Mother's Showtime, Meg's Quik Detailer, and have Meg's Final Detail and CK's QuikShine waiting in the wings). This is diluted at @ 75/25. Then I keep a bottle of full strength undiluted S&W. All in all, a "must have" detailing product!

Now to join that 5 Gallon Club...

As I posted in a discussion about cleaning MF towels, I've found that a few squirts on really dirty spots on MF towels is another great use for S&W.

I just apply a bit on spots that get dirtier from lower quarter panels, work it in a bit, let it soak overnight and then into the wash.

The S&W works wonders.

Yet another use for this great product.

hmmmm I have to tell my wife about that...:bigups ...I wonder how it works on PBJ stains on the kids cloths:dunno

I just recieved my first order from PB. The product arrived at my door within 2 days of ordering it. The S&W worked wonders on my black Dakota. It's going to be a real time saver for me when I'm doing my personal vehicles. I used about 2 ounces on the entire truck and this includes my fiberglass tonneau cover. Great product and great service. What more can I say?
