Are you guys done yet? It's time to go "business in the front".
The "board" hasn't changed. In fact, we have made very few changes to the "board" since we lost our webmaster, God rest his soul.
What has changed is the complaints that I see the most is Detail City members ability to stay on topic and, the reactions of those who notice that threads get off topic and then the reactions of those to the ones who react to the ones reacting to the ones going off topic.
#1 Please try to keep threads on topic. I understand that it is human nature for people to discuss numerous things in the same conversation yet at the same time "blatant thread hijacking" is also a very real issue and something that can be avoided. It's not like it costs members any money to start a new thread about a subject that they want to talk about. Think about that for a minute. There is no need to take threads too far out when you can always start a new thread. Do you guys get that? If you want to review a product and share your opinions and concerns about a certain product, start a thread about it in the appropriate forum. Now, if you feel strongly enough about the product that you are using to reviewe it on an online message board, would you want someone to start talking about another product in the thread that YOU started? This isn't about Poorboy's or Adams or any other product, it is about keeping threads on track and on topic and not hijacking threads. We do have alot of complaints about thread hijacking and this issue needs to be addressed.
#2 I highly suggest that anyone who has a problem with the way people post use the "Report Bad Post" feature if you have a problem with anyone's posts in the future.
Just like Rabbi said, it is better for you just to stay out of it. This is a warning to anyone that posted publicly in this particular thread, I do not have the time nor do I get paid enough to babysit. You hit the "Report Bad Post" button and then you stay out of it. Is that easy enough for everyone to to understand.
#3 Name calling and personal attacks will not be tolerated here. The next person that I see through out an insult or call someone a name other than there DC username will be banned immediately.
#4 Don't post at Detail City if you want to complain, xxxxx moan or whine. If you want to discuss detailing products and procedures, feel free. If you want to talk about why Joe Blow quit posting, that is very weak. All forums as they grow and become older lose members. They move on, they get lifes, they find other interests, heck I'm sure some of them even pass away. Guess what, we get new members every day and Detail City, or any other forum for that matter, will continue to grow as new members come and old members go. That same things happens with TV shows, move stars, politicians, fast food employees. Life goes on and so does Detail City.
#5 If anyone has a problem with #1-4, send me a PM to discuss your problems or concerns.
This thread is now going to be locked and I would appreciate if those involved in this thread would honor what I have typed here and come out with a change of attitude that will be conducive to the growth, quality and well being of Detail City. If the growth, quality and well being of Detail City are not things that you would like to see here, then please contact me so we discuss our alternatives.
