Poorboy's EX sealant w/ carnuba

Of the sealants there are only 2

EX is EX with Carnuba - but still a sealant.

EX-p is a pure sealant.

Both have been updated recently with newer formulations.

Poorboys Polish with Carnuba is just that.

If you were going to use one sealant, which would be the most versatile - EX or EX-P?

I plan on adding a new sealant option to my line up when I use the Clearkote products as my base. I like the VM and RMG, but would like to add a sealant to ensure more durability prior to the carnuba LSP.

So, in short, for versatility, EX or EX-P? What is the recommendation of the house?

I like to have both to be honest, not sure what I would pick. I use EX on Darker Colours, Reds and Blacks and EX-p on Lighter colours, Silver and Metallics.

Being as you are topping anyway I would go with EX-p as its a true pure sealant, topped it tends to look like the EX with Carnuba anyway.

Thanks...one last question. Does EX and EX-P dry white, and leave excessive amounts of dusting? I am just trying to think of how it will look on cars with stone chips, etc. Will it cause the chips to show up even more?

I have never used either.

Thanks.

Hi Richt, regarding the choice of topping with EX or EX-P, do you think EX on top of RMG regardless of car colour would be a better choice as RMG is a glaze with would not bond well with the EX-P being a pure sealant?

I have found both ex-p and ex to bond okay with glaze type products, they are not as picky as other sealants. I realise durability may be compromised a bit with both but are only used on my garage queen anyway. Hence why I pick use depending on colour for my own car. Other cars get a AIO or AG SRP base.

I see, tanx for the insight. Guess I will do better by layering wax top of RMG and sealants on top of AIO for better durability

IMO EX is one of the hardest to apply products that I've used. It doesn't glide at all-even with the foam pad spritzed with EO W&S. I wasn't overly impressed with it. I mixed some collinite 845 in it and that seemed to improve the gloss.

I agree neither ex or ex-p glide on very well compared to other sealants, But are no harder then CMW or liquid megs 26 IMO.

I use a megs MF pad dunked in water and squeezed out really well to apply EX+. Then it does apply alot easier, and buffs off easier too.

Ya, I use a lot of water when applying it too. It isn't the easiest, but it's still my favorite. It's about 1 million times easier to apply than Zaino, thats for sure.

Well, i dont know.

Zaino applies ok for me. I like it on a door knob handled foam applicator, but with the applicator Zaino sends out i tend to spray a decent amount of z8 on it, to "get it going". After it is kinda loaded i use less z8 and it spreads better.

For perfection you must persevere, or however you spell it lol.

Guys, sorry 4 being rather daff, when i apply zaino with a terry cloth applicator pad, i usually wet the applicator with water and squeeze it damp b4 adding z2 pro, never felt any difficulty in application. Same goes for KSG, Should the EX-P require the same treatment for easier application?

And yes, i applied a layer of Z6 (spray and wipe off) before Z2 after washing and drying, does dat help too?
