How did you apply your QD+? Did you spray it on and wipe it off or did you let it haze first? My thought behind letting it haze wouldnt that be the same as applying nattys? Just a thought.

Also, do you think that when you use the spray and wipe that it would remove the qd+?

I spray and let it haze after "spreading" it a bit for even coverage. I haven't used it to remove light dust because it's seems more like a quick wax then a quick detailer to me. I especially like QD+ on clear nose film after a wash when not using S-100 or something else to add protection there.

I've only used Spary and Wipe a few times and not on a "waxed" surface. I'm still getting the hang of how to use it.

Have not tried Natty's and I would only be guessing answering that question.

------

My only "negative" with EX-P was the sensation that it started to get "gummy" when I was trying to put it on thin and not waste it. It also "dusted" when removed like fine eraser dust in the few areas I did get it on too thick. This wasn't a problem after I got the hang of using it. I do like it, but must admit WG is easier to apply. I use both and can't decide which is "better".

As to your orginal problem about spreading it, try misting your applicator with water. I find a dampened app works well at spreading synthetics around. I use a damp app for both SG and Z.

Bill.

Wouldn't this go against your reasoning of why not to use QD's or water to wipe hazing off with sealants? :nixweiss

Yeah QD+ is more of a spray wax. You can combine it with other QDs to mix em for more benefits. S&W will not remove any wax at all, its a waterless wash for light dirt, dust, etc. Very safe stuff and it encapsulates dirt. Use it right and you will love that stuff.

You're right. And that's what I thought about/was worried about as well for SG in particular. But since the applicator is only damp, and I only wet it once with water (prior to the first panel), I figure it is not a huge factor. The dampness from the water is only needed in the beginning. After that the applicator becomes saturated with SG.

I have more detailing stuuf than I can use up in ten years, would also be interested in a trade and swap thread. sounds like a good way to try out something new!

I suppose if you've done it and gotten good durability then it (the water) probably isn't affecting it too much. :xyxthumbs

I used NXT and WG because those seem to be the ones (other than EX, EX-P etc) that have the most hype "steam" at the moment.

I've never used WG, and I've used (very little) NXT.

I can't say good or bad about them but the endless pages about how it's the best thing since tang is just ridiculous.

Hehe, steam? That's putting it mildly. :D

Ridiculous is right...but thank God at least one of those products will no longer be pushed here by a certain Meguiar's representative, since I've been assured that the rules here at Autopia apply equally to everyone....

Did I miss something with NXT ???? (And no I did not like it from the beginning, when everyone told me I was a fool not to have fallen in love with it)

I have a vote to cast on this 6-way forum:

As for Poorboy's it has done well by me, what stands out for me as a mobile detailer much of the time is the ease of use in the sun or on hot surfaces. Name 3 other waxes that have easy application and removal in the sun or on hot panels?:o

PWC is a great one-step product as well, the fun and art of detailing is mixing and matching your waxes to render different results........this is like one of those forums where you just have to get 2 cents in, it was killing me.:usa
