Poorboy's Detail - 2004 Pontiac Grand AM

The original detail took place over the Memorial Day weekend. My process was as follows:

Wash SS&S – 2 bucket method
Clay – S&W mixed 50:50 with water
Ricardo Clay
Flex – PwS with CCS white polishing pad - speed 5
EX – 2 coats using damp microfiber applicator pad

This past Sunday - please ignore the tires for all I was doing was putting on a coat of wax at n/c for I wanted to see the mixture of NR & NB on this color.

Process was:

Wash – SS&S – 2 bucket method
Metro Vac n Blo – to air dry the car.
1 coat of Natty’s Red and Blue combo – using damp mf applicator

Trent it looks almost as good as your car :lol2:

No, really nice job :rockon

Thanks - it is a close second to my car. :rofl

I really love my combo of red and blue, however it is a goopy solution. It goes on real nice and thin in liquid form. LOL.

I would buy a tub of the red/blue mixture if you could make one up, the correct way... :rockon

Thanks GUS and Atkinson -

I already got one of his co-workers interested in me detailing his Audi. Hopefully I can grab that one, for it will pay for the no charge I just did on the Grand Am

So let me get this straight. You essentially used natty's purple. You said it was a bit goopy, did you heat up both colors, and then blend them together? After it cools, does it reharden, or did it stay a bit like a liquid. Further details on your procedure of mixing please. Also, have you tried layering red over blue in 2 separate coats, and if so, what are your thoughts on the differences in the end result?

Beautiful !!!

Canadian Gold .. (or ws it blue?)

Red + Blue. Great clarity, and the flake pops. Hmmmmmm. I think we're gonna have to make it ourselves or put on multiple coats. Me being who I am, can ya guess which one?

Great job !!

Thanks Ron

It was Canadian gold. :rockon

If it was me, I would have to make my own.

For you - multiple has got to be your middle name. :rofl

Great work! Really want to try PwS, I really enjoy using PwC as a second polishing step.

Is the polish in PwS more aggressive then PwC?
Also, is the PwS use the new micro abrasives?

PwC, IMO cuts very similar to ssr1 and leaves some pretty nice wax protection.

Redwind, I would also like to know how you mixed them? looking to try some pink, red and white mix.

what I understand of these two , PWC and PWS is that both are pad dependant meening that there are no abrasives at all in either. They rely apon pad selection to do most of the cutting. I also believe that they are chemical polishes though I may be wrong about that.

I have always used the PwC with a polishing pad either as a finishing polish or as a one step. Yes - it is similar to ssr 1. The PwC, for me, has more cleaning ability than ssr1.

The PwS is similar to PwC, but is pad dependent, therefore a little more versatile than the PwC. To me, PwS leaves a slicker and a deeper finish. I have only used this with a polishing pad too, with the few times I have used it. Great product as with all the PB's.

Thanks for the P.M. on the details, but I'm not sure why you didn't post it for all to see. It looks like others are interested as well. I think I will give this a try with the thought that I may be able to apply nattys with a pc with a blue pad. It would save my shoulder, when I have to do multiple cars. is it thin enough to work in a yorker bottle?

I sent a pm only because I did not want to cross any lines regarding Poorboy's products. What I should have done, was ask Steve first if mentioning this would be fine to post on the detail and if he would of had any issues regarding what I have done. I know it is only goofing around in the kitchen, but these are his products.

Yes I believe it would work well out of a yorker bottle. I never thought of that, because I enjoy putting wax on by hand.

I'm pretty sure they are your products:gotcha:
