Pooboys EX-P vs. UPP 4*

Hey guys, I was wondering which of the above I should go with, im deciding out of the two, my criteria is:

- winter durability
- looks for when i use it in the summer
- ease of use

The product will be used on an 04 black honda and i will be using a PC to apply.

thanks

EX-P is an awesome product & is compatible with every wax, compared to UPP*. Im still getting protection after the soaking wet and burning summer days of MIami. The water is still beads

also check out zaino products. both UPP and EX-P are really good and if you are gonna apply 4 coats of UPP, might as well apply 4 coats of the zaino 2 Pro.

i havent used zaino before but ive heard from zaino users that three coats of zaino 2 pro will guarantee 6months protection. thats pretty long.

i have UPP and i really like alot. good product.

I love UPP and EX-P but I think you may be better off with the UPP on black. I'd had great luck with EX-P with metal flake. The duribality will be the same on both genreally speaking. Just do a few layers on a properly prepped finish and you should be ok in the winter. Remember to visit and stay true to our sponsors!

EX-P looks best on lighter colors. You should try EX. It has a carnuba additive to give some pop to dark colors..

I use both products . You'll like UPP better on black than EX-P . Apply UPP in multiple coats very thin..

UPP on black, have not tried Zaino but sounds like more work for just a bit more protection and not sure about the comparisons on Color and Clarity but UPP gives me that Deep Wet shine.

Choose what ever you want but I disagree about the more work. No matter what product that you use the work remains the same.

From all the reports on this thread UPP needs to be applied thinly. As does Zaino. The prep work is all the same.

Have used Zaino. Have not used UPP(must order). Results of Zaino are as they say. Terrific!

UPP works very nicely. Can't imagine anything to be easier to use. But I have posted here before that the automagic paint sealant is a nice product. I tried it side by side next to UPP and a couple others and it is just as nice and so far a durable finish for less money. It is not quite as easy to use as the UPP but it is in no way difficult. But the UPP is the easiest long term protection I have used.

The information posted is both helpful and confusing. civic04 was asking about Poorboys EX-P vs. UPP 4*.
Granted that Zaino, Auto-Magic, Collinite, Meguiar's, Mother's, DP, Klasse, Menzerna, Optimum, Pinnacle, P21S, S100, Wofgang, all make products that could work for him, but he wants to know about EX-P and 4 Star UPP.
Too many choices just makes the decision that much more difficult.

Couldn't agree more Charles.

Well, in my defense I did finish with the sentence that UPP is the easiest I have ever tried. :)
But I see your point Charles.

Hey, I'm not knocking anyones intent. It's just that the many products out there make it awful tough to decide on just one or two.

Did not take it as knocking my intent. You are absolutely correct. i just hate it when, in my zeal, I am shown the error of my ways.

Will make it a point to try and stay on track from this point on.

I couldn't agree more:yes: so many threads are being taken off topic by shills and people who are sooooooo into their own product choice that they are losing site of the purpose of each individual thread. Stay on topic or watch out for the Fuzz:yes:

Both UPP and EX-P are fine choice and both easy to use, if you already have one or both just see which one looks better to your eyes, if you haven't bought either, then as said earlier..."Buy them both" and treat yourself :D

Amen!!

Both as mentioned are great products. I dont think I really have a strong opinino on which is better. The best thing you can do is to try both. What one person may love about a sealant another might not care for.

They are both top notch sealers. Why not try them both?

That's what I did and I love them both!

IMO, UPP is better on my lighter car while EX-P is better on my wife's darker car. Used UPP all summer on my Honda (and will again next summer), then switched to EX-P for winter and am happy with it's durability and looks. Also have EX-P on my wifes dark green Liberty for the winter, and happy with it as well. I top them both with Natty's - Regular for my car and Blue for my wifes.

If you'd had asked about WG, I'd give it the nod over both of those products for darker cars, especially when topped with Natty's Blue or Sourverin. I question WG's durability compared to UPP or the EX products, however.
