Pontiac G6 GT

"Luck" Residue of design
I did this Pontiac over the last 2 days. This was initially to be an interior only detail but the customer later asked me to spruce up the exterior a little.

The guy who thought up the design of these seats should have his head examined. These seats were a nightmare from the beginning and I was only able to get them just OK by first extracting with a citrus cleaner mixed 20 to 1 but as they dried some staining occurred around the seams as the foam behind the mesh fabric is full of dirt that I could not get out by extraction.

I dry cleaned the seats on the second day with better results by using Blue Coral Dri-Clean Plus Upholstery cleaner and then applied Scotch Guard Auto (2 cans) in hopes that the outer part of the seats will not stain back up in the event that they should get wet.

The rest of the interior was cleaned with the same citrus cleaner, same dilution and topped with Poorboy's Natural look Dressing.

Exterior got Meg's Hyper washed and clayed with PB yellow clay using a local suppliers QD as lube then polished with Meg's UC using an orange PB VC pad on the Flex and topped with some Bathtub Wax. (Hand Made Carnauba with no name)

Wheels and wells with straight Citrus cleaner and E-Z Detail brush then topped with PB Bold and Bright Liquid version.

I gave my all to those seats and was not completely satisfied but the customer was very happy with the improvement and the rest of the car so I guess that is what really matters. Pics are limited but here they are.

Thanks for looking

Those seats sucks and I tell my customers ahead of time that the results will be a mystery. I also recommend seat covers.

You did a nice job.

I have to agree with everyone else here... that kind of fabric the G6 seats are made from is a NIGHTMARE to work with. You did well, especially given what you had to work with.

Nice turn-around,looks good. Most of the general motors and some ford trucks have the same kind of fabric they can be a pain to clean.
