Pollen!

I used to have a dark blue VW and it drove me nuts. I took back the look by doing the following: Get a Zaino Base and then (every day) EVER so LIGHTLY-like barely touching the car-california dust it. Follow this with a good Carnauba QD like Crystal Mist. Took me about 20 minutes on my 99 Passat and it left the car perfect for the next day. Kept my sanity 'til the weekend. BUT I do believe the Zaino base was clutch to keep from marring.

I got so mad about pollen today, that I stripped my Pinnacle Souveran paste wax off and put on Zaino. Normally after I apply PS, a few mins later it's covered in pollen & dust. Today after applying Zaino, there's a little pollen & dust, but not like before.

Before today Pollen drove me crazy on my black car. :wall

We'll see how it goes with Zaino. It can't be any worse.

I detailed my friends PAcifica this weekend, used 1000p as my LSP and he told me Sunday his car was covered with pollen, he was scared to wash it and mess up the detail work. He took his air compressor and blew the pollen off he said that it flew off with no problem.

The only use a California Car Duster has is to remove pollen IMO. If you have sap on your vehicle as well then dont use the duster as it will streak the sap on your car ands make it look worse then it already is

I did half of my hood (white DD) with 1000P and the other half with a very slick sealant and there was a substantial decrease of pollen accumulation on the FK side. There was a line right down the middle of the hood that even non-detailers noticed.

So what sealant did you use that was very slick?

all this talk about 1000p is making me to tempted to buy it even though i dont really need it lol

but i too hate this pollen on my black car.....

Pollen is something we all have to deal with while tree sap is another airborne “gift we receive here in the south on our cars finish along with the normal dust and debris.

I keep a pail of ONR mixture, sponge and absorber at the ready in my garage. Generally doing quickie body washes & dries every couple of days as needed. Tires and rims as time permits.

If you would like to know more about pollen I have an article on my site with write ups by “TOGWT, myself and pictures of pollen from Goggle Images.

I can’t produce a direct link to the article so you need to go through my site.

On my home page PaintPolisher.com website on the left side is the button titled – Write-Ups & Tips click in.

Third topic from the bottom is Pollen – click in – you are there.

Keep ‘em shiny!

it's been relatively pollen free around here until last Monday.

On Sunday I did a wash on Monday I woke up to find the car absolutely covered in pollen. Honestly, I thought someone was screwing with me it was so bad.

It must have been the perfect storm of new pollen and wind... check this out
