Oh ya, that does remind me; I've replaced the cord on my Makita twice now. It's really easy, but ya, it will wear out after a few years.

PC 7428 here. Found it on Craigslist, brand new with two backing plates for $60. I think Flex made them for PC, but I might be incorrect (they look identical when side by side).

I got a good deal on my dewalt rotary and I like just fine. It would be nice if it were a little lighter, but for $100 (rotary, pads, and backing plates) I guess I can put up with the weight.

I have a Metabo...well, at least for the next two days thanks to Eliot Ness (John). :spot He dropped his Metabo off to me last night to try out on a car I'm doing this weekend. I'll let you guys know what I think of it.

Anyone's Hitachi getting real warm in the summer? Almost to the point where's not easy to hold from the heat? Find it has a high pitch, not as light as the Makita either.

Anyone's Hitachi getting real warm in the summer? Almost to the point where's not easy to hold from the heat? Find it has a high pitch, not as light as the Makita either.

I've had this issue with my Hitachi and I found that a unit I borrowed would get hot if used too long. My Hitachi has been nothing but problems so now I bought a Makita, although it seems slightly heavier to me.

No problems so far, but I think the Mikita sounds more smooth at lower and higher speeds !
