Polishing with higher speeds with PC

For me, ON MY VEHICLE, only when using a rotary because of its tendancy to "sling" product - I'm still learning how to use it. With a PC, I get virtually no sling and if I do get too much product on the pad, and it does sling, I wipe it off ASAP.

Any vehicle but mine, I tape.

I do most of my polishing on 4-5 but... when i use menzerna FP i find it to work the best on 6. It seems to really bring the paint out that way.

do you guys start off slow... like at 3-4 and then maybe after 2 min of working a section, move up to 5-6 to "buff off" the stuff? Or should I just hit each section at speed 5-6 from the beginning?

Because of the bad positioning of the speed dial on the PC...its only down side in my eyes...I usually keep it on the speed I plan to use the whole time. Sometimes 5, 5.5,6 depends on my mood really.

I usually start on 4 to spread the product and start working it in for about a minute or two. I then kick it up to 5 to break down the product. Nevertheless, sometimes I start on 5 from start to finish.
