Polishing products to use and claybar question

So i will be completely refurbishing the paint on my 2002 bmw 325 that I just purchased and had a few questions. It has only a few deep scratches and huge amount of swirl marks. It is black and i will be starting once I get my hands on a good priced used porter cable. My number one question is what line up of pads and polishes should I use to complete the polishing of the car. They are pretty severe swirls if that helps at all. My second question is, I clay barred a few parts of the car that were pretty noticeably in need and as I am going to be polishing it soon didnt see it as a problem. But what I noticed was that my clay bar wasnt aggressive enough to get EVERYTHING out of the paint. It did a good job but is not perfect. Should I use a stronger more aggressive clay before I polish or is that not a good idea as I have heard you shouldnt use aggresive clay on black paint. Thanks for all the help in advance

First, who ever you heard that from? :wall

Now, either get more aggressive clay or keep claying the paint. Get a Griot Garage PC.

By the time you are done with the car, you will realize that the car had lots of deep scratches. Normal for a 2002.

Get good lighting to correct.

I'd get some Purple Foamed wool pads to cut and Micro Fiber pads to polish. Black foam pads to finish. All 5" and of course 3" versions as well.

I'd suggest HD UNO, because that is what I use. If I didn't, I'd get Meg's 105/205

Wax - Depends on what it is you are looking for. Do you like to wax your car? Or do you prefer to just maintain it?

I could just use HD UNO alone and no other products for cutting and polishing ? And okay looks like I will be stepping up the clay as well thanks haha and I always wax my cars yes

The PORTER CABLE is a 318i and the GRIOTS is a 335. It is much more potent. UNO will cut. polish, and finish.

Without seeing the imperfections, it is hard to tell what will come out. "Usually" if you can feel it with your fingernails, the scratch is too deep.

What wax do you have?

I'm actually buying a new wax as I don't have a carnauba wax only a synthetic spray, any recommendations ?. I also want to put 3d's sealant on it as well. And if the scratch is to deep to remove what can u do about it? Touch up paint and wetsand or just wetsand?

Okay thank you and there is no other options besides touch up paint? I know how to wetsand but would this remove the scratch?

So i was thinking of wet sanding the deep scratches with 2000 grit then like you said purple wool, then white HD polishing pad finally Black to finish, all with HD UNO followed with HD Poxy. How does that set up sound? I will also be uploading some pictures tomorrow of the car
