Polishing Monthly

Well I was going to add another coat of polish today to the car. I have a car show upcoming and I want it to look its best. I am using S100 products (SEPC and S100 wax).

Now reading here and there I saw postings that adding polish will remove some/all protection of the wax. This is news to me. I though polishing was safe to do one a wax was on for 24hrs. I don't plan on polishing the car weekly but thought maybe montly would be good practise.

Any thoughts?

In my experience, the SEPC (GEPC, in my case) removes at least SOME/most of whatever it's used over. I wouldn't think you'd need to use it that regularly anyhow. I'd just add another coat of S100. BUT THIS TIME, what with the show and all, maybe this IS a good time to use the SEPC again. Then just rewax from time to time unless you need some extra cleaning.

That's why they are called paint cleansers. They will clean the paint, which means take it down to the clearcoat. All waxes and sealants will be removed. If you are concerned about sealing contaminants in, then you can try using a cleaner wax, which will clean and lay down a layer of wax.

So what do you guys use to up the shine from time to time or do you just polish and wax again. I am a little lost here. I was under the impression that once waxed you could polish to your hearts content. As well I didn't realized that polish did anything but bring up your shine and luster.

Just in case its needed the products I use are

1) MPPC

2) SEPC

3) S100

Thanks
