Surprised you didn't ask about the spot under door handles, its called the door handle cup. It usually has lots of fingernail scrapes all across it from hands reaching under to grab the door handle.
What will always work no matter where - will be a cotton towel, they even make some sown together almost all the way around, like a very small sock,, that you can put a couple of fingers in.
Sometimes that is all you can do to get to those really thin tight spots.
I like to use Meguiars 105 under those door handle cups and other tight areas, because it will absolutely clean and smooth out anything pretty quickly, and leave great gloss, using the little cotton towel end or that sock I mentioned.. I get it on the cotton, rub the spot until the compound breaks down and thins out completely, and usually, that is all it takes..
You want to be able to correct quickly, with 1 step, get great gloss, and you are done..
