polishing curves and indents

Last night I was polishing the rear bumber of our 2003 MDX. Near the tailgate, the bumper is curved (almost forming a valley or a lung U shape) and I found it difficult to come up with a way to polish or reach that area effectivley. I'm using the UDM and 5.5" and 6.5" pads. Has anyone had experience in a situation like this?

Thanks.

Sometimes you can only do what you can do with a buffer. You may have to do that part by hand.

With the PC I usually have no issues with those kinds of curves, it's with the rotary that you can't attempt them as you are almost guarentee'd to burn the paint.

Thanks mate. When you do those parts by hand, do you use the same polish - say Sonus SFX-2 in this case (might even use menz IP since its pretty banged up).

Appreciate the help...
