Amazing turnaround... you might want to look into getting wool pads for the future, they chew right through marring like that hood, and they run cooler with less hop, etc than foam cutting pads.
 
to be honest, even a wool pad would have struggled with the scratches. Its only on the odd occasion we ever have to actually wet sand panels to remove defects when a foam pad fails to do so, thanks for the suggestion anyways :)
