Polish...help me decide

Brett, I am going to suggest the new Meguiars MF compounding pad and D300 DA compound. Don't be concerned with the term compound, it has the ability to finish out very well. You could also go with the finishing pad and the D300. Very nice for a one step especially on your hard clear.

Either way you'll be alright - I prefer the look of UNO over Meg's. Darker and a thick kind of look.

The Optimum spray compounds/OHC is nice on hard clear, if a little on the mild side. *VERY* user-friendly, more so than any compound I can recall using. Might almost finish out ready-to-wax in some situations so only a very quick/easy follow up is needed.
tdekany- If we're talking about corrective products, could you please expand on that "diff in looks"?

This is the best example I can provide as I am not a good photographer.

Since the reformulation of UNO, it is as user friendly as Optimum while the cutting ability is day and night.

tdekany- OK, thanks for the added info. I might have to try Uno some time, but I keep thinking "just this one more car..." like I'll never be doing any significant correction again (hope springs eternal).

tdekany- Well, there are just *so* many good choices out there these days, and I suspect that a lot of people tend to go with the "old reliable" brand names and/or stuff they're used to (even if those products keep getting updated).

Blackmax by Britemax with their pro finish black pad. Great stuff for minor wear and tear, will give it a mirror finish for sure. I use that on my baby to the left with their spray and shine easy stuff to use and does a great job, and if you want to really extend the durability of the job, use their extreme elements, I use it on my snow mobile, seals it so well i ride through brush and not a scratch. Dont even need a machine for the stuff...

I suspect I'm just suffering from buyers remorse--but I'm starting to think that MEg's new MF system isn't so much a game changer as is is just a supplement--or the inbetween...but I'm hoping once i test it out, it'll prove to be a great product...
I'm thinking it's 105, D300, 205, and the other mf prodiuct(assuming htis is pretty much an aio?)someone please fill me in please? I haven't received mine yet--but hype? or actually worth it's weight?
haven't seen longevity of the 'wax' but if it lasts at least 3-4 months then I guess I can just leave it as lsp--but was thinking if it's the 1 month-ish of most aio's, then maybe i'll strip wash and put on another lsp anyways?" help?

Just so pleased with the new Optimum polishes I haven't felt the need to try anything else. Today, I was able to remove pretty much all the dealer installed swirls in one step using OHP, a 6.5" Optimum orange cutting pad and a rotary from a metallic black Sebring without leaving any holograms behind. Since the owner of the car wasn't paying for the detail (her boss was), I was told to do what I could in one step. I don't know of a lot of polishes that finish down that well with a rotary and actually correct at the same time.
On the other hand, I am impressed with the bottle of HD Proxy I got, and I agree, it gives the paint a "thick" look. I know exactly what you are talking about.
Brett-honestly, whether you go with Optimum, Meguiars or 3D, I am sure if you use the proper technique, you will get excellent results. For me personally, if I was going to use a rotary, I'd go with Optimum's new polishes for sure. I will say that I was very impressed with the cutting power of OHC and a yellow LC CCS cutting pad and my PC 7424XP, ripped right through spider swirls on a customer's 335 and my own Maxima. I haven't used the new Meguiars system or 3D's polishes so I can't comment on them.
