Poli-Seal v/s ColorX

For you that HAVE used both as a onestep how does Poli-Seal compare to ColorX?

1. Ease of use on & off compared to ColorX?

2. Effectiveness, does it remove minor swirling as well?

3. Stain black trim?

I use ColorX on a white pad right now for the low end details and am looking at a replacement and I have an opportunity to pick some up but don't want it if its just going to be another pretty bottle on the shelf.

TYIA.

IME, ColorX is a great chemical cleaner, but it didnt really do much for swirls. It seems to be great for oxidation and it leaves behind some protection. OPS is more of an abrasive polish. It does a good job on minor swirls. I like the look of OPS better, and it really is easy to use. I like both products, both are easy to use, I give the edge to OPS because it can polish out light marring, and IMO it looks better. HTH,

Now thats the type of response I was looking for. TY

I don't know about poli-seal but color-x is a combo of things.

It does remove swirls but very light swirls and not deep swirls.

It is also a polisher and wax, so it is more of a 3 in 1 but you still should put another coat of wax on top.

I've done some research on color-x but non on poli-seal.

So I hope other's will chime in for poli-seal.

Even if the performance of StratchX and Poli-Seal are equal (never used StratchX), I would believe that Poli-Seal would be more cost effective if you are using on customer vehicles.

I don't need info on ColorX as I have it and use it .. matter of fact I was in possession of it and usingit months before it was available in Canada.

I'm more interested in hearing from those that have used both.

I don't use ScratchX.

I've used both. To me ColorX is a chemical cleaner with negligible help on any fine swirls and as mentioned above it should be sealed with a second product (LSP).

PoliSeal seems to have much more ability to remove swirls, works easier and provides a sealant coat of fair durability. It is an All in One product where ColorX really isn't. I know Megs says it provides protection but I think it is really minimal.

I have used both, and for general cleaning, I vastly prefer Color-X. I use colorx about 5-6 times per week. I reserve poli seal for correcting miromarring after a compound session. But, for general oxidation removal and cleaning, I choose color-x every time.

I have used both products, and they are both very good. If I had to pick one as a one-step product, I would go with poli-seal. I think it looks better and definately has more durability.

If I were using the product as a base for another LSP, it would be a toss-up. I really like the workability of Color-X better than Poli-seal. Both have proven to be a great base for a wax like Collinite 845.
