PFM Drying Towel.

Griots Garage PFM Terry Weave Drying Towel

My dry me a river WW has just about served its life. This morning it was time to break out my new GG PMF drying towel. Did a flood rinse as normal. Then on to the PMF. WOW! This towel made very short work on the Xterra! Picked up water like a magnet. No streaks or smears. I had no issue with the bigger size. Needed for the Xterra. When I was done I was very impressed with this towel. So much to say it beat any WW that I have used to date. At $40 it is a expensive buy. But well worth it. Wait for a sale like I did to grab one. Hope the future performance of this towel remains the same. Short of a blower/dryer, I don`t see a better tool to dry with.

A great towel for sure. But way too expensive. TRC`s new Twistress towel is every bit as good, albeit smaller, for a fraction of what GG is charging. I own both - review coming soon.

I have not used the TRC towel but I have been using a PFM large and two small ever sincd they came out and for drying my frontier, that large PFM is a joy to use. For one towel, once you get the hang of using it around the wheel wells and other areas (takes a bit of stretching and delicate maneuvering-at leat for me) it works fantastic for me.

The only thing I dislike about it is that it takes a long time to dry in my garage draped over my folding chair but that is why I have two. So I guess the price thing wasn`t much of an issue for me.

I think it`s a good investment in time saving for drying but like I said I`ve never used the other towel.

I even like the PFM overall over the Big Blue except when using it on black paint...just to be a little safer I only use the seemingly softer towels on my black paint.

That "just doesn`t feel soft enough for some applications" impression keeps giving me pause, even though some have said the PFM is OK on stupid-soft paint. I sure don`t want to find out the hard way that it`s not 10)% Accumulator-proof.

Don`t you launder/machine dry it after every use?

I bought a PFM drying towel after I saw all of the positive reviews. I still like the thicker Big Blue towel. I can use the smaller Big Blue to out dry the larger PFM. Of course, just my experience.

Wonder if my preference for multiple, smaller Plush MF Drying Towels factors in any...I just don`t like manipulating bigger towels.

But I *DO* prefer thicker ones! In a really big way. And the subjective, and possibly irrelevant in the functional sense, "how it feels to my skin" matters to me just on a psych level.

PA DETAILER- Thanks for that link, although...sigh...I kinda end up back where I start! Seems that I`d like a little version of the Big Blue. Heh heh, as long as I just keep (over)thinking it I`m not spending any $, and I really am completely satisfied with the Dry Me Crazy towels.

Now those PFM *GLASS* towels...might have to get some of those eventually! As long as they don`t start linting for anybody.

I`m no towel guru but to me I have the pfm, gyeon, and big blue. The gyeon to me is a great towel and feels safer on the paint then the pfm. It also sucks up water with one pass and not one steak. One will dry my Infiniti g35

IMHO the Griots PFM towels are the best drying towels period. I have one big blue drying towel and hate it, I have 15 of the PFM towels in different sizes. Advanced Auto has a PFM drying towel that is in between the sizes that AG/Autopia sells. It`s a great size and sells for $24.99, and I just caught a 20% off sale with free shipping. Griots PFM wax removal towels are nice also.

Have the PFM glass towels. Great glass towels. No lint.

Ah, good, thanks for the info.

For some reason I knee-jerk to "gee, bet that`s pricey!" when I see "gyeon".

PFM towel is product that surpass it`s marketing hype and performs as the name and it marketing material describes...

I picked up the 2 pack of the smaller PFM`s a couple months ago and they`re the best drying towel I`ve used. Shortly after I picked up 2 small Big Blues on BOGO and I don`t like them at all. They just pushed water around. Once they were saturated, they were a pain to twist and took forever to dry. I don`t think I`ll be using them anymore.

Last week I ordered some new towels from TRC and I picked up a couple of the Twistress drying towels. I like the bigger size and they work very good but I think the PFM`s are a little better. They will both be in my drying arsenal.

I`ve been using the same 2 PFM glass towels for over 2 years now with no linting at all. ;)

Re: PFM Drying Towel.

I just received one (16x16) from the McKees mystery box. Didn`t know where to use it. Now I have an idea. I will work on a comparison.

How would you like the to be compared?
