In a new detailing publication. I want to start a new "magazine" dedicated to detailing. Both the enthusiast and Professional side of it. There used to be one, and now there isn't. I think that it would be a great thing to have. A good friend of my family owns Pinnacle Publications, and i have recieved some really amazing newsletters/magazines that they designed.



I have a ton of ideas that i will type out later, but for now in order to try and judge if there is significant interest to draw up a proposal and bring it before some key sponsors i have created a simple form that will take you less than 1min to fill out in support of this.



If you are really interested in helping, please do your best to spread the word to other forums. Each person that sends an e-mail to [email protected] containing a link to a thread on another forum that they posted this idea will recieve a free year worth of the publication if and when it goes live.

Reviews, tutorials... and information on products. With such a

bewildering array of detailing products available, some order to the madness would

be appreciated. Carnauba, polymer, synthetic, etc. Which is better for what

application? Finding a wealth of information geared to novice and expert alike

would be great.

but what if also did like a web based page where you link to detailing product

deals. or even in some fashion of listing how to find deals on products...something

like www.gotapex.com dose for computer and business stuff.

Personally I want to have a professional section where a pro is featured each isssue. I also want a "ask the pros" section, a "readers Rides" section, and a sponsor showcase section. I like the idea of a new product review page, and possibly a tutorial each month sponosred by Better car Care (That would be DavidB, with The Perfect Shine LLC) I have alot of ideas that i will post a few at a time as i make decisions if they are viable or not.
 
Very interesting. Professional Car Washing and Detailing is more focused towards the car wash industry than the singe location/mobile detailer.



Just a heads up though, it will be hard to compete with all the free internet content.

That magazine is why i want to do this. If they can have a publication, then we should too! As far as competition with free content, 10-15 dollars per year isn't alot for the pure quality that i can have this published at, and if need be i will fight my hardest to get as many sponsors aboard that it takes to pay for the publication and distribute it for free! I dont want to make it free just for the reason that a ton more people that dont even want it will subscribe just because it is free. $2 is better than free just for that reason. This isn't a definate thing, i am just getting an initial interest, and i will base my decisions on the responses from this first push. Scott, you still moderate the OT detail forum?? Wanna post this over there?? Please? :xyxthumbs :cool:

I think it'd be awesome. If you got enough intrest, im sure you could easily solicit ad space and get Megs and Klasse and al the others to buy ad space, would save a lot of money towards the subscription. I would definately pay for a subscription, sounds like an awesome idea. Just make sure to include a load of reviews and, i guess techniques would be the word, to show how to properly apply, remove all the products and stuff. Overall it sounds awesome.
 
This is going well, I have e-mails from several different forums that members here haves spread this too. I have recieved several e-mails interested in sponsorship, and several interested in writing an article. A few Very well respected members have even mentioned writing an article!! There are alot of suggestions for Pictures, articles, How-to's, product reviews, product pre-release reviews, tips and techniques, professional tips, and soo much more!! I really hope that i can get enough support and interest to get the ball rolling on this!! Please keep the submissions on the form coming, as that is how i am judging interest!

for opinions and commentary, interviews with major and boutique manufacturers, new

and emerging technologies, photo galleries from car shows, discussions of garage set

ups, letters to the editor, tips and tricks section, classic car restorations

pictorials, concourse prep (how to), upcoming calendar of major car shows,

classified ads, articles on the ins and outs of different types of auto paints and
