There is a high probability that I will be getting a new black VW Golf in a week. My previous car was actually an identical silver Golf and despite the meticulous use of Klasse from day one I still ended up with a fair number of stone chips on the hood.
I'm strongly considering the use of a safety film such as Xpel, Stonguard or Armorglove on the hood. Any other options that I'm missing? I'd appreciate it if somebody could post some high resolution photos of a hood or other application on black paint.
I'm also a bit curious about temperature tolerance of the films as it seems that black paint would be the most likely to reach the highest temperatures.
And lastly I'm a bit worried about finding an installer that has a clue. Any tips on how to tell if an installer is capable of doing a proper installation of one of these films?
