Ok, I hav e completed my aresenal. I have a PC, AIO, CLay and PS12 car polish. Now I need help with the process I should use to clen my car.

Also can AIO and PS12 be used with the PC and if so what is the process?

Here are my thoughts:

Wash

Clay

Wash

PS12 paint polish

AIO

Carnuba wax.

Do you have to wait to apply Carnubua after using AIO for a deep shine?

~One man’s opinion~

P21S Paintwork Cleaner – AIO- Carnauba Wax (wait 1-2 hours, but there are other (valid) schools of thought (wipe-on, wipe-off with no need to wait before applying wax)

IMO Carnauba wax does add to AIO (but then beauty is in the ‘guy’ of the beholder)

I’d prefer to use the SG x 3 and then apply wax.

~Hope this is of some help~

Just a ??. Wouldn't he want to use the AIO before the p21s cleaner. I thought the AIO will deep clean, whereas the Sepc/Gepc doesnt clean as well but really gives a good base for the carnuba.

Just asking??

The P21s paint cleanser is used first before the AIO.

If you were going to use AIO and SG, the SG has to go on top of the AIO. If you put the P21s paint cleanser in between then I am almost certain you would have problems with the SG.

If you read 'The Perfect Shine' http://www.autopia-carcare.com/inf-perfect.html David recomends P21s cleanser first, before the AIO and SG.

Hope that helps :)

Yeah, you'd use the P21S GEPC *BEFORE* the AIO. If only because the GEPC has some (VERY FINE) abrasives in it whereas the AIO is virtually NONabrasive. And since they are both "cleaners", I'd rather have the AIO remove anything (like fillers) left by the GEPC than vice-versa.

AutoNova- Yeah, the GEPC and the AIO can both be used by PC. I would advise you to get some kind of (mildly) abrasive polish in case you have some swirls or other marring to attend to. The GEPC isn't gonna really remove anything like that, it's too mild.

What type of pad are most of you using with the PC to add the AIO and GEPC? I have a yellow, black and cream pad. When you apply do you just buff both products till they are gone or do you buff with the PC then hand wipe the glaze off with an MF?

Great feedback form everyone!

I have used CMA's black pad to apply AIO with great success. Typlically you should use the least aggressive pad in your arsenal (assuming you have nothing else on your paint other than "squeeky clean"). I have not relied on AIO's cleaning abilities at all, although others here have.

By those colors, I guess you got them at TOL.

Depending on the paint condition and what you're trying to accomplish, I think you're looking at the yellow or cream. I haven't had the need for the yellow pad yet. I've been able to use just a white/cream pad. I use the black (finishing) pad for applying Zaino and SG (2 different cars).

I buff off with MF or cotton towels (depending on the product).

I usually use a (CMA) White pad, PC speed 4 (I’d prefer to AIO x2 before I’d go to something more aggressive)

Most modern clear coats are 1.5 - 2.0 mils thick; never remove more that 0.3 mil of clear coat or premature paint film failure will occur.

There are no benifits to using AIO twice, however using the p21s paintwork cleanser before hand is good for very minor swirls do to its less agressive nature.

Wash: to remove exessive dirt and grit

Dry

Clay: to remove any overspray and air-born pollutants

Wash: to remove excessive clay residues

Dry

Polish: with white CMA polishing pad to remove minor swirls

AIO: to gain a very clean and bright surface

Wax: to acheive depth to the paint

When I got my PC from TOl it came with a white pad that hooks directly into the PC, is this one used for putting terrycloth bonnets on? It is more shallow in depth. Also the TOL pads come from Buff & SHine.

I dry so that i can perform a little test to see if claying is nes. I put my hand in a plastic sandwich bag and gentley run my hand over paint to feel for gritty texture which indicates claying may be nes.

Some clays such as natural clays do break down faster in water than with specified clay lubes.
