Please advise - Detailing Black Cayman

Well I don't know if you watch the channel 2 news here, but I just talked to Frank the weather man there and he told me that its not going to let up just yet. He said traditionally when we have Junes like these we have hot and dry Julys. Heres to July!!!! Have fun with your car, thats one of my favorite Porche's

Thanks, pt91. How do you compare Zaino against Meg. #16 original forumlar? (reason I keep asking about #16 is that my friend already has some)

I have at least 30 waxes and sealants and 16 is one I hv not tried so I can't compare. If you can get your paint fully corrected a good sealant may be what you are looking for. Sealant generally do nothing to hide flaws.

Maybe EZ creme glaze and then a sealant would be a good combo.

If you are like me you will end up trying multiple combos. Post some pics when you finish.

Yeah, this weather we have here is just ridiculous.

I’m waiting for the weekend to do anything….will be taking next Monday and Tuesday off as well. So, in conjunction with July 4th next Wednesday, I have full 5 days to work on this, pending the weather. My GF is not amused…:lol

You're not kidding about this crazy weather! Don't forget the bird poop...esp. when your company doesn't have covered parking...GRRR...Good to hear the Optimum Polish-Seal worked for you. I have a black G35 and i'm looking for products that can help with the swirls.

To your original post..have you tried Klasse or Menzerna? From what I've read on here thats good stuff. I know you can get Klasse from Pro-Am on richmond and fountainview Menzerna however you'll have to get online. Hope that helps!

Hey, thanks for the heads-up! I'll drop by Pro-Am and will look into Klasse's sealant.

Yeah, Poli Seal worked great...especially for a novice like me...it was almost too easy. There was very little to no residue. With the white LC pads, I was able to get rid of the swirls in one pass. That was my first time using the PC as well...I can tell this will be addictive.

You're welcome! I'm a novice to the PC as well i just ordered mine so right now i'm researching products to use. I can use my car now as a test mule for detailing until i can afford my 997 turbo. (Which will prolly be a long time... :LOLOL ) I actually was looking into a Black cayman as well Good Job! :hifive:

Where did you happen to get your Poli Seal? Did you get it locally? TIA for the info!

Ryan

Wow, looks great! Hopefully mine will look similar after the weekend.

Can't see the wheels...but I think I know what you were referring to…must be the 19â€ Carrera’s. Yeah, I like the stock 18â€ Cayman wheels as well. It’s similar to the Carrera GT’s…and since I can’t afford a GT…at least I can have wheels that are inspired by them. :D Also, it looks like he has the Porsche sport exhaust as well.

Been wondering…how did you work on the inside face of the buttresses. Did you polish by hand?...because when I tried using the PC, it just didn’t really work well.

WOW, I haven't been to Pro-Am in years. I didn't know that they sold detail products. Might have to pick some up.

The pics of the 2 Caymans are gorgeous.

Yep they do! :woot: I didn't know that either. Until I started getting more into detailing. I wanted to look for local shops that carry detailing products. It can get kinda costly when you pay shipping. If I find any other shops that may carry stuff I'll post it in the Southwest section.
