Plastic Lighting Restoration - A Guide to...

Lochi: I wouldn't go this abrasive on the dash cluster. I have used Meguiar's #10 and #17 with excellent success. You can get them from www.westmarine.com

Almighty: Absolutely! Which school are you a TKE at? Are you talking about the convertible rear window? or the actual top care?

GS400: After you wetsand, you need something rather abrasive to bring back the shine. Metal polish cuts down and levels out the surface leaving an amazing shine behind. Most plastic polishes only contain a VERY small amount of abrasives.

The problem with that kit is there is no wetsanding involved. When you wetsand, you level out the surface...That is doing nothing more than polishing away the oxidation. FWIW: I have used this method on headlights that are pretty pitted with great success. Next set of lights I do, I will take them out and give full documentation.

Hope this helps.
