Plasti-dip on wheels that have been Opti-Coated?

Hi Guys:

I am pretty sure all I already know what the forum is going to tell me on this but here goes.

Wife has a 2012 Pilot that was Opti-Coated by me since a week or two after delivery. I also took the wheels off and coated those as well. Well, now the wife wants black wheels (she has a Diamond White exterior; touring model). I told her an option is to powdercoat them. Another option is to Plasti-dip. I think I want to try my hand and plasti-dipping the wheels when spring comes around.

Okay, so I was wondering if anyone here has plasti-dipped (not painted) over an opti-coated surface. And if so, what the results were. Intuition tells me the plasti-dip won't adhere properly to the wheel surface but since this rubberized paint really bonds to itself maybe it will still work well? And maybe it will be even easier to peel off in large pieces if I want to remove down the road. I'd like to avoid polishing the wheels and removing the Opti-Coat prior to plasti-dip if possible.

Am I just being dumb here?

Thoughts??

Will it be as durable as a normal plast-dip job? Probably not, but I'm sure it will stick.
